This is the top of the line choice for the serious craftsman who wants one superior blade for most all woodworking. Saw plate run-out less than .002-inch for flat true run. Built-in dampening system reduces vibration, making cuts quieter and more precise. Performs smooth, easy crosscuts and rips. Even does a great job on double sided laminates. Carbide tip material is an extra hard, C-4 and super fine grain with corrosion inhibitors to give the keenest edge and longest sharp-life.

Generally, I'm able to get a glue line ready cut from this blade with no jointing/hand planing necessary. I've cut many sheets of hardwood veneered plywood with it and have not had to resort to a scoring cut, or taping the cut line to avoid tearout. As long as I feed the ply at an easy rate, this blade cuts with virtually no splintering of the veneer!
I've never personally used any of the Forrest WW line of blades, or the Ridge blades, but I hear that the Gold Metal is comparable. Judging by how well this blade performs, I can't imagine that the competition could be any better.
Considering that this blade is generally sold for $20 - $40 less than the Forrest or Ridge blades, I think it's a no-brainer that this is the blade to get!
I have a big delay in sharpening, so I now have a spare. Cuts very well and carbons less than prior blade. I cut lots of scraps for segmented wood projects and woodturnings, etc. Recommend it highly.
I bought a high end Freud once . It also cut super smooth, uh for about 15 cuts and then you had to really lean on pushing it through. What a junker. It also had that teflon stuff which I hate. I trashed that one and even didn't send it to Forrest. I've heard two stories, one is ng carbide, the other an edge that is ground to cut easy but won't hold up.
