This is for the mint hair wash
on December 29, 2013
I hate it.
I have extremely oily thick hair. My hair stylist says it's enough for three people to have regular hair thickness. It's also an extremely short pixie cut. By short I mean about an inch long.
Before purchasing I contacted them via email about what product I should use for my hair type. They also recommended I use the body wash on my hair with the vinegar rinse. I followed their instructions to the letter. I spend 10 minutes rinsing with high pressure water to get all the product out.
The result? After two months of using this my hair looks wet all the time and I could spike it if I wanted to because of how gunky it is. It's gross. I haven't used hair junk like gel or mousse on my hair for over three years, and the shampoo I did use was free of all the chemicals listed on their website that they say are bad for me.
I contacted them via email a few times now, and they have responded. Their suggestions for my issue? Shave my head so I don't have to deal with the detox (WTF?) and that I should change my diet because of the unhealthy chemicals in food. Um, I eat almost NO junk food (it upsets my stomach) and I eat very healthy. They said any medications I'm taking could be causing the issue and I should cease taking them. I have medications for neurological issues (epilepsy being one of them) and for severe allergies. I cannot stop taking these meds. Then this person claimed these medications (I didn't list them, just mentioned I need them for epilepsy and allergies) are "well know for causing clashes with their hair wash".
In other words the person I was talking to via email is full of b.s. and is throwing out random things so I keep using their stuff.
I will no longer use their product. I have enough left that I'll use it until it's out (I bought two bottles of the hair wash and one bottle of the body wash as suggested), but I'll turn to a different natural product after this.
Do not order the hair wash unless you feel like dealing with a headache. People with dry hair will likely benefit, but if your hair is as oily as mine you'll be frustrated. The reason I started using this is because a friend of mine with ethnic hair (she's half black half east Indian) was praising it like it was made by the hands of a god. If you have a hair type such as she does you may do well.
The prices are ridiculous, and shipping is just...no. $10 for shipping even one bottle? That's just stupid. They are wasting our money and theirs with that price. I sell handmade jewelry I make and ship internationally. Shipping isn't that expensive within the US for equal the weight of one of their 8 oz bottles.
