They are not stand-alones. I am on edge waiting for 5. And I spent just under $9 already. I thought 4 was to provide an ending but no, it didn't. I would not have spent$12 (by the time 5 comes out and I buy it) for what is essentially one book meted out in pieces.

What a phenomenally romantic opening to a romantically phenomenal story. This story of Blake and Jennifer just keeps getting better and better. And now in this 4th...albeit short....installment, our Mr. Burns is experiencing so many "firsts" with Jennifer. Kissing in the rain....having her spend the night --- cuddling --- pillow talk --- and then moving her into his home; his private space. These are all HUGE firsts for Blake. Keep in mind he's never been in any kind of relationship before..ever!...he's never had to "woo" or court a woman...he's never experienced rejection. He loved 'em and left 'em behind. He's a selfish, spoiled man-whore who's come to the realization of how empty his life had been before Jennifer. He has so many regrets concerning his past loose behavior. What an awakening! And somewhere, somehow he's changed, and Jennifer McCoy has showed him there's so much more to life. Somewhere, somehow she'd gotten in his blood. She makes him.....feel. When she's not around, he misses her....another first for him. And now she's feeling overwhelmed and disconnected from her own wedding plans (that has been taken out of her control).. while battling feelings of inadequacy, low self-esteem and intimidation. She's a little farm girl from Idaho entering into a Hollywood world of intense wealth, glitz and glamour and she's trying not to flounder.

I so love books told in first person...and I especially loved reading this fourth installment from two POV and Ms. Nelle L'Amour does it so well. The male/female POV. Superb! I SO loved Jennifer McCoy's character. How can you not?!? She's so genuine....so human! She's kind hearted, honest and selfless; she's "down-to-earth" and REAL. She's smart, endearing..and she's perfectly lovable.

I. LOVE. THIS. SERIES.

When the series ‘ended’ with That Man 3, like many other readers I was sobbing into my glass at not reading about Blake, Mr Burns, and their Tiger (if you’ve read the series you’ll understand the reference to a certain part of Blake’s anatomy). So like many other readers I was cracking open a bottle when the news came that not only was there going to be a That Man 4 but also a That Man 5 (due in December). We were going to be with them on their journey after the proposal to the wedding.

We have all the old characters here, I’ve already mentioned Blake, Mr Burns, Tiger aka Jennifer, but also Kitty Kat (I know, I groaned too), Blake’s Gran (who wouldn’t be pleased to see the return of the sex crazed granny!?), Chaz, Jamie Zander, Libby to name but a few.

Instead of a bridzilla we instead get a… is plannerzilla a term? One who hasn’t heard of the saying ‘less is more’ it would seem. One who seems to view the bride as an inconvenience to her organisation and one whose daughter happens to be none other than Kitty Kat herself. Prepare for claws at dawn….

Now I know that I mentioned that there was one final instalment so (sighing and groaning at the same time) there is no ending to the story. In true Nellé L’Amour fashion we have a jaw dropping cliffhanger, one that left me going ‘NOOOOOOOO’ and having to reassure myself that we were promised a wedding. That means that Jennifer couldn’t be…. I mean she wouldn’t would she…. (evil reviewer laugh). Read it to see what I mean, you won’t regret it.

Please note I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I finally finished all five books in the series and I have to say it was pretty darn good. The story begins with the heroine having fun with her friends at a bar. They have a game of Truth or Dare. They spot the H by himself and tells the heroine she has to reach him while blindfolded and kiss him. She manages to do just that. The kiss does all sorts of stuff to both her and the hero. It was instant love for the hero. The heroine, however, is engaged.

The h winds up working for the H. He recognizes her as the blindfolded girl, but since she was blindfolded and he took off soon afterward the kiss, she has no clue he was the one she kissed at the bar.

I love that the H whom was a no commitment player suddenly finds himself totally into the h despite her engaged status. His best friend’s advice to him was to eliminate the competition. He does just that during the course of his pursuit of the heroine in a very effective way. The H was very sweet and completely devoted to the heroine once he met her at the bar. He was also such a romantic. He called her his tiger. She was it for him.

I liked the h but not as much as the H. She stayed engaged to the douche until the H catches him cheating on her. I thought the h should have been more intelligent after the kiss and would have broken the engagement sooner. I did not like that she had to wait to see him cheating on her before she left him. She should have realized that she was falling love with her boss way before then.

There is an OW whom keeps trying to come between the two of them. She was a mistake from his high school days. The h gets even with her and her gal pals right before their wedding. I thought that stunt was pretty hilarious.
