The picture I have attached shows the basic cuts of the Chiba. All are very thin and fine.
Just pulling it out of the box, I could tell the molded plastic was of a distinctly higher quality than the lower-priced versions. The carriage slides easily, and--beware--the blades are razor sharp.
On to using the spiralizer... Wow! This little thing has revolutionized my cooking game. It dispatched a zucchini into beautiful "zoodles" in about 30 seconds. Carrots were a little trickier. You need a short, fat variety rather than the long skinny ones. It also made short work of an onion and a parsnip. I'm about to put it to the test on a sweet potato, but I have no doubt about its abilities. It's just an amazing way to incorporate more nutrient-dense, low-calorie vegetables into your diet.
Clean-up was also simple. I just hosed it down with the attachment on my sink, but if you don't have that available, it actually came with a little toothbrush for getting in between all those lancet-sharp cutting tines.
My only complaint is that unlike some of the less expensive spiralizers, this one does not have a little drawer underneath to store the extra blades. It's hardly a deal breaker, but if you're the kind of person who misplaces kitchen odds and ends frequently... (Yeah--like me...)
I've only had this a short time, so I'll check back after repeated use. But I just can't stress how substantial this appliance is. If you're planning to use one of these frequently--and you should!--just spend the few extra dollars. I am having such fun at the supermarket these last few weeks, hunting down new things to turn into spirals. I haven't even gotten to the fruit yet!

Less waste than other brands. Just wish there was a way to have it locked down onto the counter.Read more
