CAUTION : FIRE HAZZARD!!!
10 months into using this product and my Tivo unit would randomly disconnect and/or throw error codes. I thought it was an internal issue with the Tivo itself, so I would manually reboot everything by unplugging & replugging the power cord from the back of the box. Fast forward to current day (18 months after purchase) and my Tivo lights were flashing like crazy. I read online that this is due to a faulty power supply, so I purchased a new one; and while unplugging this one from the wall I LITERALLY BURNED MY HAND!! The adapter was RED HOT and a dime sized bubble had formed (see attached photos) from where the unit was essentially burning up from the inside!! I'm EXTREMELY grateful that I caught this in time, as I honestly believe that another day or two and this may have resulted in an electrical fire! I wouldn't use this product again even if it was given to me for free!! There should be large printed warning (right under the "Made In China" stamp) that reads : CAUTION : FIRE HAZZARD!!Update : Right after writing the above review, I decided to crack the casing off to see what was burning up inside. (It's worth noting that 5min after being unplugged from the outlet, the blue LED light remained lit 😬). Upon opening the unit up I immediately noticed a foul odor! Aside from the actual burning that was taking place, there was also some sort of acidic residue leaking out!! (see photo)Again, I can't stress enough not to put yourself & home at risk with this product! The temptingly low price point is simply not worth the catastrophic effects it can potentially cause.
