My son has an 07 TTR125 with the stock 7/8" steel handlebars. I bought these because of the great price and all the good reviews.
I received them and was immediately surprised. Each of them was white, but a slightly different color of white. It seemed odd to me that the color didn't match.
On closer inspection, I noticed the shape didn't match either. It appears from the picture that's how they're supposed to be, something I didn't notice before ordering. I figured, given the great price, I'd just live with it. My son probably wouldn't notice that they didn't match (color or shape) anyhow.
They came with no instructions, but I'm not a mechanical idiot and I've installed brush guards on another motorcycle, so I figured I should be able to successfully install them. It does seem like it wouldn't be too hard to come up with some decent instructions, even if they were only photocopies of pictures.
I started with the right/gas side. Dimensionally, it seemed to fit. However, no matter how tight I made the bolt, I could not get the handlebar insert to tighten enough to make it anything but flaccid. I tried it with and without the little vinyl shim sleeve provided, I even replaced the wedge nut that causes the insert to expand with a slightly larger nut. Nothing would work.
Over an hour later, I ended up with the end cut off the handlebar grip, no brush guards installed, a lot of frustration, and having to return the product. Disappointing at best!
Speaking of the return, it was no problem to get it approved by Amazon. However, even though this product was advertised to fit 7/8" bars and it did not, I now have to go to the Post Office and pay return shipping. I feel like the vendor should pay the return shipping when their product is not as advertised.
