Good charging dock without requiring controller modification

The product does as advertised and properly charges the Xbox One controllers with the Microsoft Li-ion batteries (from MS Charge & Play kit) without modification of battery door. Insertion of the controllers onto the charger is fairly easy, although a bit of care is required to align the mini-USB port to the controller. Once plugged in, the controller(s) appear to be supported well and the charger is stable with one or two controllers charging (i.e., does not tip over easily). While charging, LED lights illuminate red; when fully charged, the LED turns green. While I do like the charger overall, there are two areas that could be improved: 1. The included USB cable for power is too short (barely longer than 2 feet), which means you'll likely need to use a different USB cable unless you happen to have an AC outlet that close to where you intend to place the charger -- I used the USB cable included in the Microsoft Charge & Play kit, and 2. The LED lights remain illuminated all the time while the charger is plugged in (whether or not controllers are actively plugged in); the LEDs change in color (from green to red) only when controllers are actively charging -- I would have preferred that no LEDs are illuminated when a charge port has no controller connected.

Works Fine With The MS Battery Pack

My first review slammed this charger because I couldn't get it to work at all. It turns out after some emails back and forth between me and the seller; the aftermarket battery pack I was using isn't compatible with their charger. Once I bought the official Microsoft battery pack their charger seems to work.

I tested the controller (Xbox One S) after it charged and it lasted for over an hour. It probably has a lot more charge left in it but I haven't had a chance to continue testing. So far, so good.

Effective Dual Charger for Xbox One Controller using Xbox One Lithium Battery Pack

This is one of the rare dual charger stands that specifically charges the Xbox One lithium battery packs, as most chargers are for lesser battery pack technologies, like NiMH tech. The controllers slip into the charging unit easily, and in actual fact rather elegantly, as I was used to the rather common difficulty of lining up the mini-USB port. There's a LED for each controller is red during charging and green when charged.

Note that I had trouble with my Xbox One wireless controller's continually disconnecting during a game, typically after a vibrate-the-controller event, i.e. high battery drain. Never had this problem with PS3 or PS4. Anyway, switching to the lithium battery sets solved it, except for a rare event when the battery is low, and thus I found myself searching for a effective dual charger for Xbox One controllers using lithium batteries.

Sometimes it is hard to get the controller to fit into the port, but with a little jiggling around it's not too difficult. I'll probably buy a second one after I've spent a few charging cycles with this charger after I make sure that it doesn't damage my battery packs.
