Enter the Toaks 750ml cup/pot. After much shopping, measuring, and YouTubing this was my choice and it fit the bill perfectly. Of course I had to give it a test run and while I was not able to do so on the trail I did use cold water to simulate a trail like situation.
You can see from the pictures how it works with my solid fuel setup (14 14gram tabs, lighter, 8oz. Cup, Esbit stove base, Toaks cup and bag - all together around 14oz) and the Romin lunch I made using only one fuel tab, which was hot and tasty.
A few experience notes. The handle gets hot during cooking but cools quickly when the heat is off. The lid fit perfectly and was easy to work with. I could drink from the cup after it had a few minutes to cool while the contents were still super hot. The cup was super easy to clean as was the soot on the bottom from cooking.
While only time will tell I'm convinced that this pot and my setup will last a longtime and save both weight and space in my bag on any trip when compared to other options.
I can also fit a tiny sponge, mini Bic, waterproof matches, and camp towel inside.
Finally, just by chance I bought a Sea to Summit X Mug that, when flat, sits comfortably on top. I put a thick rubber band around everything, and I have a kitchen kit for two. Sweet! Sea to Summit X-Mug, Lime
The total weight for my "kitchen for two" including everything in the picture is 14.5 ounces. The fuel canister is mostly full.
The increased tallness gives you more room to operate and more room to make meals. I think it's the idea pot/cup for the trail for one person. Easily fits enough for a Mountain House 2-person meal. It's a backpackers dream. It comes with a nice lid for steaming stuff and letting it absorb water. Has volume markers. No rivets on the inside to scratch things up if you are worried about that.
You pay up for the titanium, but it's worth it for anyone who has to carry these any distance. The handles stay relatively cool but be careful anyways.
It's basically the new version Toaks 550mL titanium pot but taller (see pic). It can fit anywhere or anything that the GSI steel cup fits, as long as you know it's taller. Bigger than some others, but not too big.
