Overall, this is a great clip. I just have two complaints.

I wish that it was designed so the Fitbit can be charged without removing it from the clip. It's a bit cumbersome to extract the Fitbit from the clip every few days, especially because Fitbit band allows you to charge without taking the band off.

This isn't the clip's fault, but it's worth knowing before buying. Since you're not wearing the Fitbit on your wrist, it's very, very easy to forget and lose the Fitbit. It stays on fine, but when you change clothes it's extremely easy to forget to swap the clip to your new clothes. I've spent a lot of time hunting down the clip, while the band serves as a visual reminder of having your Fitbit on you.

This clip doesn't track sleep well at all. The band is much better for that.

(Also, I didn't notice much difference in my step count compared to the band.)

Now that the Fitbit One is obsolete, I am using the Alta. The BEST way to get an accurate step count is to wear it on your hip. Example: wearing the Alta on your wrist, resting your hands on the handles of a treadmill or a shopping cart makes the Alta think you are at rest and not walking--therefore, no steps. This holder not only helps give you the steps you've earned, but also frees up your wrists to wear watches and bracelets. I've had mine for several months now and it is still in great shape. The bright orange color makes it hard to ignore, which is a good thing!

Glad to find a waist clip for the alta

I do not like wearing trackers on my wrist and much prefer the waist. This clip does a good job holding the tracker in place and I have not had it come close to falling out. My only complaint is that it does not offer enough protection around the sides of the screen and it can become scratched/chipped easily (I found the Alta HR to be pretty fragile). I like the way the clip for the fitbit one covers all the way around the sides and gives a small protection buffer on the top. If you decide to use this clip, I highly recommend finding a good screen protector.

As for step counting, I compared the Alta HR on my waist (with this clip) vs. my old Fitbit One and the steps were well within 1% of each other.

We had the FitBit One and LOVED it, but the only "semi-smart" clip-on activity tracker available these days is the FitBit Zip and that doesn't do enough for us. We like being able to wear our FitBits more discreetly rather than as an activity-tracker "bracelet". This is exactly what we were looking for and allows the newer FitBit model to still track properly without having to be worn on the wrist. Our daughters are also able to wear their FitBits during sports games such as soccer and lacrosse because it is on their waistband, cannot get torn off by another player nor get caught on anything (it's covered by their jerseys), and the referees cannot see them. They are not allowed to wear any "jewelry" so if they were to show up with a FitBit wristband, they would either have to remove it or wouldn't be able to participate in the game. It's a no-brainer! They get a LOT of steps in during their games and like to keep track of that.

I was so sad that I lost my Fitbit One!!!!! I didn't want to get a wrist tracker, but I now use the Alta HR. For me, the wrist trackers count A LOT of extra steps. When I'm teaching, for instance, I could have two thousand extra steps (as measured against what I would get with my fitbit one or phone pedometer, based on previous averages, and noticing extra steps while sitting in my classroom). I didn't think that it would be able to use the heart rate monitor with this, but for me it works (worn on my bra). The clip is tighter on your clothing than the clip that came with the Fitbit One, so I feel more confident that I won't lose this one. So glad I found this!

I’ve always preferred the clip in style - like the Fitbit “One”, unfortunately I misplaced the tracker. After a bit of research I found this holder which nicely accommodates my Alta. I previously would occasionally switch between the two trackers. This holder is configured to securely hold the Alta by using two slots inside of the clip. I’ve used the holder daily for over a month and it is still as tight as the day I received it. I couldn’t have done better,priced right too!

For those of you who have been a Fitbit One user and were disappointed that they no longer make them. Here's your replacement and it won't cost you over $200. I was burnt with a "certified refurbished" One (it didn't work ever) and I refuse to pay $234.99 for a new. If there is such a thing now. So, I purchased the cheapest Alta (No HR) because the band color doesn't matter, you're NOT going to use it. Buy the Alta and this clip holder, VOILA! You are back in business and nothing hanging of your wrist, I already have a really nice watch that I like.

Since I'm male, I might as well throw in my 5 cents. When I replaced my Ionic with a Series 3 (later exchanged for a Series 4 Apple Watch), I tried to find a clip for it to keep it going. Since I didn't feel comfortable with my Ionic (for some strange reason my Ionic developed a scratch on the screen, which lead to the Apple Watch) in my pocket, I decided to revive my dormant (3 years) Alta, my first Fitbit Watch (which I would later go on and use a Blaze). Charged it up, paired it and it was good to go. Finding a holder for this proved to be alot easier than the Ionic. I clip it to the outside of my pocket (not it's intention since it's advertised as a "sport bra clip holder"), and off I go. Still counts the steps.

There is a minor difference in step count between my Apple Watch and the Alta, but not major. Since I am involved in competitions with people on Fitbit, I can't leave the Fitbit ecosystem. Hence why I bought this. I also wanted something that's pretty small. It definitely works.

I like everything about this. Previously I had a Fitbit Zip and loved it. I then bought a used Fitbit Alta HR and while I loved it even more, I hated that it didn't track steps while I walked pushing a stroller, which is always how I walk now! This changes that! And it's just as accurate worn either clipped onto my bra or on the pocket of my jeans. Obviously worn this way it doesn't track heart rate or anything like that, but that's okay. So glad I came across this!

I have several of these in different colours to match whatever colour I am wearing. This fits my Fitbit Alta (old style). I like the idea that you can wear your Fitbit on your waist to get a true count of steps. I especially like it when I am golfing so you are more accurate in your steps rather than movement. You do have to watch however, that it does not come off your waist band. I found that this happens when you are sitting and then stand sometimes it does move up and it did fall off once, so I tend to check to make sure its in place before I start moving so I don't loose my Fitbit Alta. I would and have recommended this product.

Some previous reviews talked about clipping this to their pocket or bra, but after trying it out on both of those locations and getting less than 50 steps per day, I moved it to the cuff of my pants. I’ve gotten better results from that, but so far nothing as good as wearing it with a wrist band. It’s possible that the wrist numbers are higher because it’s tracking arm movements when I’m not walking.

Other than that, the quality is good and the Alta snaps in securely.
