Being energy conscious, I put an LED bulb in my garage door opener a couple of years ago. All this time I've had issues with my garage door clicker and never put 2 and 2 together. When I found an article about LED interference on garage door openers it dawned on me that my opener worked great when the door was already closed because the light was not on. It was only when I was leaving the house and wanted to close the door that I was having issues. This completely cleared up the problem and it is brighter than the 60W equivalent LED that I was using before.

i upgraded to these LED bulbs when a CFL bulb burnt out after 27 months. these LED bulbs fit perfectly and perform as expected. 5000K gives natural light, perfect if you do technical work in the garage, and 1600 lumens is plenty bright in an oversized 2-car garage. when testing range, i purposely turned on the lights first before opening the garage door, and i did not lose operating range, either (for my area of use). personally, i don't think these bulbs deserve most of the low-star reviews they've received. prior to purchase, their respective reviewers demonstrated lack of knowledge in both bulb specifications and their own garage door opener. these LED bulbs are modern designs and more likely to fit in most of the currently available garage door opener models, not decades-old models. while they may be "universal", Torchstar never advertised them to be 100% compatible with every single garage door opener.
While some have had luck with these, they didn't work for us. Our garage door is 6 year old and the radio interference from the led bulb prevented our garage door openers from working with any reasonable range. Bulb works and has great color, just can't use it in our garage door opener as desired.
UPDATE: Let me clarify, the bulbs themselves work great and put out great light. In my garage door opener they worked, but when installed my garage door remote would not work properly. Many people don't have this issue, so may be my equipment. The seller contacted me and was more than helpful. Wish all sellers cared this much!

Wow this baby is bright. I put in a new garage door opener which went from one bulb to 2. The original bulb was a incandescent designed for garage doors which on the left side of the picture and this new bulb which is on the right. Usually when we are in the garage we turn on the overhead fluorescents but I think I'm going to upgrade the rest of the bulbs and the garage will be brighter than with the main lights on. With dual bulbs that would be 200 watts of light for a total of 30 watts. Love LED lights.
This gave me much brighter light in my garage, with only the garage door opener light on.
My garage door opener is designed for and has a sticker stating that the maximum wattage of bulb should be 40 watts. But this 100 watt equivalent bulb only draws 10 actual watts. So it's cooler and 2.5 times brighter.
It's designed for garage door openers and as such, I have observed that there is no motor interference. I can only assume that this means that it should also handle the vibration of a garage door opener.
Garage opener, Chamberlain quiet belt model, 3/4 HP, with rolling code, built in 2009. The light bulbs work well and does not interfere with garage opener remote control. I installed two LED bulbs (100 W equivalent, temperature 5000K) for more than two weeks. It works well. Highly recommended.
Didn’t work out for me. Caused just as much if not more interference than the regular led I had in there before. Guess I’ll just use the stupid phone app to open the door 😡
