Great toilet training method

I toilet train my cat using the method developed by this author. I am very happy with the both the procedure and the result (not too difficult either for me or my cat). I followed the instructions in the book"Litter Free" (Fist edition) but, judging by the table of content, the same method is used in "Toward zero waste Cats II", so I can strongly recommend it too.
P.S. If you want more details, I wrote a complete review under the book "Litter Free".

From the Author

One evening while I was watching cat videos on YouTube, I wound up watching some about cats being toilet trained. What I saw made me worry that cat owners would try this without the necessary information to succeed, which would inevitably produce unclean cats. I then searched for books on the subject. What I found got me even more concerned. Knowing that uncleanliness is the main reason for cats being abandoned, I felt the urge to intervene.

What bothers me is that the procedure they use in books and videos still has the same flaws as the one I used first, back in the eighties. Besides, toilet training gadgets are inconvenient and produce a new set of problems.

What I present here is a new improved method.

  • I discuss everything to consider to reduce the risk of problems.
  • I present specific strategies to prevent inappropriate elimination.
  • I explain my unique method to ensure that the cat recognizes the toilet as "the right place to go."
  • I describe my strategy to guide the cat to place himself properly on the seat.
  • I removed unnecessary, error-prone steps other methods have.
  • I reorder the steps so that when he moves to the real toilet, the cat knows how to pee and poo right into the bowl without making any accidents on the seat.
  • There is no gadget to remove from the seat and reinstall to allow people to use the toilet.
  • No litter grain will ever fall into the toilet bowl.
  • My method allows for a much smoother progression in learning than any of the gadgets available.

The temporary use of a water litter is an exclusive part of my toilet training method and contributes to its advantages over other methods. Don't worry, I explain how you can assemble a water litter at a low cost.

I recommend the permanent use of a water litter, instead of the toilet, if your bathroom is a crowded or noisy place. The maintenance cost of a water litter is nearly zero, and cleaning is extremely simple.

If you click on the "look inside" logo above the book cover picture, you will be able to see the Table of Content of Toward Zero Waste Cats II. You'll notice a large part of the book is about cats' elimination behavior, needs, and learning capacity. There is also an important section on various techniques I have developed to properly guide cats when introducing changes in their litter habits.

>>> I consider this information so fundamental, I ask you not to buy this book unless you agree to read those sections before you start a transition toward a water litter or the toilet.

I hope you agree there is no point in trying to change your cat's litter habits if you are not willing, first and foremost, to comply with what your cat needs to be satisfied and stay clean.

On the other hand, should you take the time to understand the rules, you'll realize how wide the possibilities are. You'll figure it's just a little about the elimination place itself (its look, size, material, ...) and a lot about respectful transition guidance while keeping the place safe and clean. Because cats are such smart fellows!
