These work great as long as you know what to expect.

As a Network Engineer by trade I have always been interested in powerline technology as running cable is pricey. These are great when your in a pinch. Do they take the place of running a drop? Absolutely not. You do not get the speeds advertised by the vendor. That being said I have tried a few different model powerlines and found these to work the best.

Good product that does its job

Good product that performs as expected. Great for internet-based services and local video streaming; but not necessarily ideal for things like frequently moving very large files over your network...but it's still often better than wifi, depending on the layout of your home and network.

Pros:
- Super simple setup
- 3 ports on each device, no need for a separate hub/switch for up to 3 devices
- It's definitely "fast enough" for most internet-based services

Cons:
- The "up to 1200Mbps" is misleading, I get around 120Mbps, but that's more than enough for what I use these for
- It partially covers the top outlet on a typical 2-outlet plug (see picture)

Just to set expectations, you MUST realize that everyone's experience will be different depending on your wiring and other factors -- but in general, these devices do very well for internet-based applications, even if they won't get anywhere near the advertised speeds.

To give some rough numbers for speeds:
- I have a 75Mbps/75Mbps internet connection
- No matter how far apart I put these devices, internet speed tests at the furthest device never dropped below 75/75
- Computer-to-computer speeds with my old AV600 powerline adapters were roughly 70-80Mbps
- Computer-to-computer speeds with these AV1200 devices are roughly 110-120Mbps, so about a 50% improvement

I have a pair of the 500Mbps adapters, a pair of the 600Mbps ones, and now these 1200Mbps adapters, and they all work together seamlessly. I mostly use these to provide fast and reliable internet access to devices like set-top boxes (Roku, Apple TV) and security cameras (Foscams), and they work GREAT for things like that.

And while these aren't ideal for copying large amounts from data from one computer to another over your local network (where you'd hope to get near-gigabit speeds over ethernet), it is more than fast enough for streaming from local or internet-based content, heavy-duty web surfing, and more. Plus, it lets you avoid having to run real ethernet cable throughout your house, which can be a huge effort/expense.

As for the size, it was a little disappointed that I can't plug in a typical 3-prong plug into the outlet above where the device is plugged in (see picture), but outlets are plentiful and power strips are cheap, so this doesn't really bother me.

Great idea that is poorly executed. I bought this in hopes of removing the 100ft LAN cable that I had run through my house and up the stairs. With a product that boasts speeds of 300Mbps (which is a lie since it can only produce speeds of up to 100Mbps with a wired connection?!?!??), I was hoping to get the max speed out of this device. I pay for 200Mbps internet and receive 240-220. I only get 22Mbps with a wired connection through the TP-Link Av500 adapters. Would return, but got these at a decent price and isn't worth me dropping off at UPS.

So easy to set up. Can't believe I stumbled across this product. It's amazing. I have so many devices that I don't want on WiFi bc it's all the way across the house from my router. Plug it in the wall and plug 3 devices into it and it's like it's plugged straight into the router. Great product. And to think I was about to run a cable through my attic and down the wall just to have them hooked up..ha

I was getting 5mb down on a lousy 150mb nano wifi adapter when my other machines in the same area were getting 12mb. I installed this powerline adapter and paired the devices in less than 5 minutes and I had 26mb down right away. I've heard that these devices don't work well with older houses. My house is 10 years old and this device is working flawlessly for me. Super happy!

These are one of the best things to use if you have trouble getting your WiFi throughout your house. I have used these for about 6 months with no problems or data speed reduction. One plugs into your router and then into an outlet and the other plugs in wherever you need it. Just attach it to your device or plug in a WiFi extender. Anyway, it works great!

As of late, the internal Wi-Fi antenna on my computer tower has been acting funky. It would either lose range or die completely, and eventually fix itself in about 3-5 minutes. I wanted something a little more dedicated, but that would be tricky due to the layout of my house. I looked into buying one of these to see if it would help, and truthfully ... while I may not get the full speed of my internet connection through it, my computer isn't the primary item of use on my internet connection. But, for what it's worth, I can't complain, to be honest.

Quick setup, didn't even need the directions. As a matter of fact, if you have a standalone Wi-Fi Router and you want to extend range of your wireless connection, it is entirely possible! Again, I'm not bothered that I'm not getting 100% speed from it, I just wanted something that would help me hide wiring,and it did an incredible job with that!

I use this to connect my Apex Neptune Reef controller (classic series) to the the internet. I previously tried a Netgear wireless adapter and the connection was extremely unstable. The connection provided by the TP-Link unit is as stable as a traditional wired connection and the Apex is able to reconnect automatically after power outages.
