The PoE Kit TL-POE200 consists of an injector and a splitter, which are used together to expand your network to where you wish to place network devices but has no power outlet. They can supply 5/9/12V power output and deliver power up to 328.1 feet (100 meters) away. However, they are not 802.3af compliant and cannot be used separately with other 802.3af compliant injectors or splitters.

How It Works

On the input side of the injector, connect the injector to its power adapter and a data source such as a router or a switch. On the output side of the splitter, connect the splitter to a non-PoE network device such as an access point, VoIP phone, or a PoE camera to provide power and data.

We installed two runs of 200 foot length, each using a pair of these with CAT6 cables, feeding D-Link DCS-930L and 931L IP cameras. The output DC adapter is switched to the 5 volts DC that we need, and can provide 9 or 12 volts instead, if needed. The system seems to be working just great. Just be careful that the 48 volt DC wall warts that plug into the injector module don't accidentally get plugged to some other device - they are the same plug size as many small devices accept - it would be nice if they were made bright orange or something!

I purchased the Poe adapter kit to power an Agasio 602W camera. My house was pre-wired for 3 Cat5 cameras but I needed a way to provide 5 volts of power. Kit worked great. Easy to set up. I had to splice the connector from the camera's DC converter onto the DC connector cable from the splitter. No problems so far. I will probably buy 2 more for my next cameras.

Amazon has deceptively combined the 'splitter', 'injector', and 'kit' products into a single listing. In spite of this, the 'kit' is a completely different product than the separate 'splitter' and 'injector'. They are NOT compatible with each other. The standalone splitter and injector products are both IEEE 802.3af devices, which means they will work with each other as well as any standard PoE equipment you may already own. The units in the kit, however, are not IEEE 802.3af compliant and will work only with themselves. I purchased the kit thinking that it was equivalent to buying the splitter and injector separately, but this was not the case.

Thankfully, Amazon accepted my return of the kit product, and I re-ordered the splitter and injector separately. The separate products arrived on time and worked as expected. I was disappointed to see that the splitter came with power and ethernet patch cables that were completely different lengths, requiring me to make a shorter ethernet cable to match the length of the power cable. Afterwards, I was happy with the performance of both devices, although I did need to power cycle both of them once before they synced up.

There were a few design details I really liked. The power connections on the splitter and injector were different sizes, making it impossible to connect them the wrong way. Also, the voltage selector switch on the splitter was slightly recessed, making it difficult to change by accident (and risk damaging the connected equipment).

Overall, I was happy with the products I received the second time around, but I wish Amazon had been more clear about the fact that the three products listed were not all compatible, despite being listed together.

Worked well till one got too weathered. That took about 6 months which is impressive. My fault entirely. I taped it up with plastic wrap to protect it from the weather, all that did was trap the water inside. Still have yet to find a good solution for keeping this outside where it will get rained on.

It looked so awfully rusty when it died I was impressed it was still working up to that point.

Product does not live up to its promotion for the following reasons: It only transmits over a very short distance- one-fifth of its claims; It limits you to only 3 power settings; and the instructions were almost impossible to decipher. I finally got a tech wizard to hook it up, and its data transmission is half what is claimed, and is at best, intermittent. I am a fairly tech aware customer, and have use similar devices. I will NEVER buy another product from this company or its provider.

I have two issues with this product. First of all the splitter does provide not an isolated supply - it's built with lowest cost possible cheap electronics - so you have the likelihood of frying your equipment or shocking yourself, especially over long runs of cable. Secondly it is for 10/100 ethernet only and will not work in gigabit ethernet mode. I should have read the fine print but assumed any modern product would support gigabit ethernet. Was wrong.

This entire line of POE devises are great. Reliable and durable. One unit even was out in the weather by mistake, and continued to perform well. Only complaint is that there is no MINI power which all the newer 5 volt cameras use.
They don't even seem to be available online here at Amazon or elsewhere. I have made up a few for myself which work fine, but a normal to mini power plug would be nice.

We just moved into a larger home and since it is pre-existing wiring which makes it tough to run new. So I bought this set to try with my D-Link DCS-2132L, as well as my DCS-5222L and several of the DCS-932L and they all powered up and worked perfectly.

So I will be ordering several sets of these for my home, it is a lot easer to just run a cat5 cable than it is to run a power cable because the power cords that come with the D-Link camera is very short and I spliced a couple before but that seemed to do more harm than good.

I am not for sure what all applications this would work for, how what all devices will work but I can just tell you my story and hopefully it will help some people out. I will update this with more information when I put the cameras up permantly.

I bought this pair thinking I can use the injector and splitter individually.
From testing, the injector portion works alone, I am able to power my POE camera with it. However, the splitter will only take 48V so I couldn’t use an existing POE wired to a POE switch to split power and data. It only works with the coupled injector. A bit of an disappointment. Better off purchasing the higher end version that is 802.3 compliant.
