My laptop's wireless card is a piece of -- well, you can guess. I looked at some super expensive wifi adapters and then at this one, and thought, well, for $10, how can I NOT try this first? And: OMG. I love it. Previously, I could not be further than about 15' from our home's router. My study, about 20' away: frequently zero reception. Even when connected, the connection would time out sporadically and interrupt my work or uploads (I do a lot of high res photo stuff so this was more than annoying).

NOW: Full bar connections anywhere in my 1200 sq ft apartment. Consistent connection. WAY faster download/upload speeds. FYI, laptop is a 2014 Sony Vaio running Windows 8.1.

Plus, this is such a wee little thing, I don't even notice it plugged in. Could not be happier. I'm sure this is made in horrible Chinese factories and should feel really guilty about the artificially low cost...but. I'm a terrible person and am really just happy I have it.

Thank God it works! I have a HP HDX laptop that has wireless issues for the past two years. Finally it stopped working completely. By chance saw someone mention that a USB adapter might work. Tried this one as it was the most inexpensive. It works. Its so small. I don't even notice it. Setup was a breeze and now when I start my laptop it automatically turns on. Hope it lasts.

Does great for the months that ive owned it. All i needed to do was plug it into any USB on my new desktop and with no installing or anything it picked up and held my Wifi signal flawlessly. The 300mbs upgrade would have been a wiser buy though. Buy that one its like only about five dollors more and itll give you better latency if you online game and youll be able to browse the internet quicker and I just wish I got the 300mbs version. Product is from TP link and is top quality and so far utterly reliable. Sorry for spelling and being stoned while I write this. Great product though. If you got an empty USB you can easily connect to Wifi from anywhere within around 75 meters. Very good! No h8 m8, gr8 s***! Gr8 prizice! Very good !

When I got the adapter I tried it on my Ubuntu laptop but it was not recognized. I upgraded to Ubuntu 14.04 and now the adapter is recognized and working great. This information is for those who use Linux instead of Windows.

Pros: Particularly valuable is the legacy support for WinXP and up to Win 10
If you have an old dog that must stay on XP (legacy apps etc) and you have to ***gasp*** continue to support it, this little baby will get you network connection going w/o a hitch

Cons: The interface program is a bit kludgy but if you install drivers only (standard install option) it works flawlessly.
Summary: Its simple and it just works.beautifully with no fuss, great for DIY, technician support & quick connectivity issues

For those who are purchasing this card to use on Linux/Raspberry PI/Raspbian, here are some quick tips

1. I purchased this adapter (TL-WN725N V.2) in June 2014 and I believe the driver was included in the kernel starting from 3.12 somehow, so if you have a desktop Linux like Ubuntu or others, it should work out-of-box

2. My Raspbian now runs on 3.12.22+, however, the driver is NOT included in original image

3. The solution, find an ethernet cable, connect your Pi and another computer, either bridge them up or direct peer-to-peer, download 8188eu module here, find the one corresponding to your kernel!:

http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=462982

4. scp it onto your Pi, then manually insmod it. If everything went smooth, the rest part should be straightfoward: iwlist/iwconfig/dhclient/wpa_supplicant etc

The TP-Link Nano Wireless works well on Windows OS formats. I tested it on Windows 7, following the accompanied instructions and loading the drivers from the included CD. The Windows OS recognized the Nano without the CD, but could not find/load any drivers without the CD. The wireless easily installed through the CD (actually mini-CD). Besides the drivers, the install disk included a software that shows a user interface. I found the interface to be very user friendly and showed a lot of relevant information, including the signal strength of various wireless access points and whether or not they were password protected. Compared to my internal wireless card, the TP-Link was a slightly weaker signal strength by about 5 to 10 percent. But it worked very smoothly, got me online, and never hung up.

I could not get the TP-Link Nano, however, to work on my Linux Mint OS. I tested it on Linux Mint 11, Linux Mint 13, and Linux Mint 14 XFCE. None of these OS's even recognized that the Nano was even in the USB port. The Linux Mint 14 is set up on a "dual hard drive" boot, so that I can boot up Windows 7 or Linux Mint 14, so the hardware was literally identical for that test.

I am not completely sure if the Nano is useable or not on Linux, but I failed to make it happen and even failed to get it to recognize the new hardware as even existing. I sent an email to the company about this and if they show me how to do it, then I will update this post. I have my doubts about it being able to work on Linux though, because it was not even recognized. If it did at least get recognized, then it may be possible to use a "wireless wrapper" to make the Windows driver work.
