Product Description

TP-LINK TL-WN751ND is designed to provide a complete end-to-end wireless performance from the server or server backbone to the switch infrastructure and down through to the desktop with the PCI Express connector. TL-WN751ND Wireless N PCI Adapter provides a wider compatibility, fitting with any standard 32-bit PCI slot. Compared with standard PCI network cards, it offers increased bandwidth, reliability and more functionality, allowing you to enjoy a fast and advanced connection, such as downloading, making internet call and video streaming. Wireless N -Speed & Range. Complying with the IEEE 802.11n standard, TL-WN781ND can easily establish a wireless network and get up to 9X the speed and 4X the range of conventional 11g products. Compared with legacy 54M products, TL-WN781N delivers performance enhancements, allowing you to have a more joyful surfing experience, including sharing files, watching streaming media. WPA/WPA2 Encryptions - Advanced Security. As for the security of WI-FI connection, WEP encryption has been no longer the strongest and safest guards for outside intrusions. TL-WN751NDprovides WPA/WPA2 encryptions that are created by the WI-FI Alliance industry group, preventing the wireless network from outside threats. Quick Setup Security. Compatible with WI-FI Protected Setup (WPS), TL-WN751ND features Quick Security Setup (QSS) function, which is ideal for creating a WPA encrypted connection to prevent outside intrusion, and meanwhile maximize the management resources. Not only is this faster than normal security setups but more convenient in that you don't need to remember a password! Detachable Antenna. TL-WN751ND offers external antenna that can be rotated and adjusted in different directions to fit various operation environments, and can bring better performance than the internal antenna. For even more demanding applications, the antenna can be replaced with diverse antennas to show even greater flexibility and wider wireless coverage.

I used this on a re-purposed old desktop in a mid-tower case for one of my young kids to begin using as a simple word processor and (don't tell him) a Minecraft client! The main consideration for me was whether to get this model (WN751ND 32-bit PCI slot) or the WN781ND (PCI Express slot). I didn't need anything more than the 150Mbps these offer so it was just a matter of making sure I picked the correct version of the two.

This one worked out better for me anyway because of where the slots were in relation the my existing graphics card and a slot-fan mounted just next to it. I'd recommend checking your motherboard and your free slots before you pick one or the other.

The installation was straight-forward and since I was installing it on a mid-tower case, there was no need to switch to the included low-profile bracket (nice touch btw). Once properly mounted, I loaded Ubuntu 15.10 and even from the live-usb boot, the OS recognized the card and gave me access to WiFi. After the whole installation process, Ubuntu connected to the WiFi network I'd specified and I did not need any additional configuration. I imagine that Windows support is a given, but it's always nice to find hardware that works right out of the box on Linux.

As for reception, I get what I would have expected for a NIC with only one antenna that ended up being placed on the lowest slot in the case. It sits 2 rooms and about 40 feet away (thru multiple walls) and it delivers good performance. The icon on the OS shows 2 out of 4 bars but I downloaded all of the OS updates and did not notice any hiccups, or latency issues. The machine felt as responsive to online activities as any other wired terminal on my network. It's not exactly a quantitative metric, but it's comparative from someone who makes his living online.

This is just the latest of several TP-LINK products I've purchased and I have yet to find anything to dislike about them,

I bought one of these for my mom when she moved to a new apartment where we had to put the computer desk a pretty long way from the cable outlet. I really didn't want to have to run a long cable around a room and past a doorway to connect it.

She has an older Dell Optiplex, but I was able to get this physically installed in just a couple of minutes. I really appreciate the fact that it came with a half-height PCI slot plate, which is what she needed. It was easy to switch out. The driver install was easy, fast and totally painless. I had her PC up and running on the wireless in 10 minutes or less and there have been zero issues since.

I should note that the PC is only about 12 feet from the wireless router and all of this is in a small apartment, so I don't know how well it performs in bigger, open spaces or in more complex RF environments like factories, hospitals etc. where I have also seen these in use. But for a residence, it's perfect, at least for us.

This card works fine for the price. I'm getting max 21mbit through it, while other PCs in the same location (about 15 feet from router) are getting 32mbit. if 21mbit is fine, and the price is good, then there you go.

I'm running Windows Vista 32-bit and the install was very easy. Installed the adapter card using the quick setup guide and loaded the drivers only. My PC is upstairs on the 2nd floor and my wireless router is located in the basement two floors down. I ran a speed test and it's the same as when my PC was wired. I get 4 out of 5 bars (Very Good) signal strength. I had to adjust the antenna a bit to get the best signal. I would recommend this product.

I was getting spotty wireless performance from the Airlink101 wireless N USB wireless device I previously purchased, so I decided to try the PCI option. I can tell you that PCI or PCIe (which is the smaller version) are vastly superior, although I've had better USB wireless devices. I bought the TP-Link TL-WDN3800 for one machine and this TL-WN751D for an older machine without a PCIe slot. Both are working flawlessly, which in this case means that the wireless signal is consistent and does not drop. I got a full 150mbps on my primary router and the full 75mbps on the older, more limited router; both with no signal fluctuations or drops during the time I was monitoring. This is plenty fast for standard internet viewing purposes.

I moved the WN751D to a spot in the house that typically gets a low wireless signal and it didn't fare better than other devices, unfortunately, but it still recieved a signal and did not drop.

Installation was a breeze...just pull out any old, unused PCI card (if there is not an open slot) and pop this in. Then attach the antenna to the outside. Installing PCI and other peripheral cards may seem daunting if you haven't done it before, but I assure you one or two internet videos worth of research and you'll find this an easy task. This is not something you should pay someone to do for you! The driver comes on a mini CD but I don't have a CD/DVD drive; so I went to the TP-L website and downloaded it with no problem (obviously you'll need another internet connection - in my case an ethernet cable - to download the driver). Make sure to have a zip program to open the files (WinZip, 7-Zip, WinRAR, etc).

I'm not sure I'll buy another desktop again, but if I do it will certainly have a PCIe wireless card. These two TP-Link cards are an excellent choice.

Pros: Easy install and setup; clear, consistent signal; good build quality
Cons: Range slightly limited (half signal in room only 40-45ft away with no major obstructions)

Recomendada
