Do yourself a favor and browse the TP-Link forum for this product (and its little sibling, the AP300) before deciding to buy.
There hasn't been an official firmware released in over two years (a beta firmware was recently made available) and the problems with this product are numerous and occasionally show-stopping. For example, even if you disable the DHCP client on the unit, it will query your DHCP server every 30 seconds (this is fixed in the beta firmware). When you are changing the wireless settings, e.g. enabling/disabling a wireless band, the interface gives you no indication that "something" is happening; it just becomes unresponsive, and occasionally you will have to power-cycle the unit to get back into the GUI (this has worsened in the beta firmware).
The biggest offender by far is the Multi-SSID mode, which simply does not work correctly. There's no way to put a SSID on the untagged LAN, and VLAN tags are sometimes not applied or applied incorrectly. This leads to packet loss and increased latency, even with the beta firmware. I've taken some packet captures on my router and the findings are... strange. Packets originating from wireless clients (and therefore should be tagged) often end up on the untagged interface. TP-Link support seems willing to help, but so far they have been unable to resolve this issue.
Still, the unit performs fine in basic AP mode, so I have to give the unit at least two stars. I just wish I'd been aware of the Multi-SSID issue before buying, as this was the feature I'd most desired in a new AP.
