Miniature Design, Ultra-compact
With its new ultra-compact housing design, TP-LINK's TL-PA2010 is considerably smaller than TP-LINK’s legacy mini 200Mbps Powerline products. Made out of an elegant white shell that’s just 1.1 inches thick, it nearly blends into any power outlet.
Up to 200Mbps, 1000 Feet
With advanced HomePlug AV technology, TL-PA2010KIT provide users with stable, high-speed data transfer rates of up to 200Mbps on a line length of up to 1000 feet. Together, with its built-in powerful AES encryption, the TL-PA2010KIT is a great choice for an entire home solution to connect all network compatible devices – from computers and game consoles to printers, NAS hard drives, and set-top boxes for IPTVs.

Easy to use – Plug and play
Plug and Play, no new wires or configuration required:
- Plug the adapter into the power outlet
- Connect the device via the network cable to the adapter
- Press the encryption buttons - and you're done!

Reduces Power Consumption Up to 75%
The TL-PA2010KIT employs a sophisticated Power-Saving Mode that consumes significantly less power when compared to your average Powerline Adapter. When there’s no reception or data transmission over a certain period of time, the TL-PA2010KIT will automatically switch from "Working" Mode to "Power-Saving" Mode. This will reduce its energy consumption by up to 75 percent.

Pair Button for Easy Network Security
Simply by pushing the Pair button on the adapters, users can set up a hassle-free Powerline network within minutes, complete with 128-bit AES encryption for network security and data protection.

Best. Purchase. Ever.
I wasn't able to watch Netflix when he was gaming without hearing him complain because of the strain on our wi-fi. Since plugging these in, I haven't heard my son complain about his games lagging at all. Wish I wouldn't known about them a lot sooner.
1. Dont plug the AV200 into anything but the electrical outlets.
2. The CD-ROM that came with the AV200 is useless, other the being required to install the next step (Note: if you do use this software, it will cause the AV200 to drop its connection every few seconds while the software is actively being used.
3. AV200 goes to sleep randomly causing the Tivo mini to disconnect from the network, go here and download fix to disable the known Sleep Function in the AV200: go to forum-dot-tp-link-dot-com and search for "3666" (how-to-solve-some-powerline-adapters-can%92t-be-waked-up-by-some-network-adapters) download SwitchPowerSaveBetaTool.zip.
4. All works perfectly now.
5. TP-Link support for this device is laughable at best. :( Note: I could not locate a firmware update anywhere for the AV200 U.S. model.
Current link speed 96mb, I did initially have the router side plugged into a surge protector and speed was 25mb, which was less than ideal for the Tivo Mini.
Setup = router>AV200>House Wire>AV200>Switch>Tivo Mini and Roku 3. I hope this saves someone installation and setup time.
I can't really think of what else is causing the problem here... it is an old home (1910's) but it works so great the first few weeks. =/
UPDATE:
I moved a few months ago into a newer apartment complex, built in the 90s. I'm still using this, although I have to unplug and re-plug it in sporadically - averaging about once a day - in order to get it to work. Although in the past week I've to completely unplug and sync the units next to each other, then plug everything back in. It's annoying AF, and the manufacturer really support this product with firmware updates/etc although they're still selling them.
I seriously hate these things, but the alternative is running a 100ft hard line on the ceiling.
1. Deceiving instructions
- This product literally has no manual and gives "Plug and Play". Well, so I plugged on both sides and guess what? The two devices were not pairing. Now what? Start googling because this was "Plug and Play".
2. Common line
- this was no where in the description of the package being sold. After plugging it in to 6 different outlets, I finally got power line pairing. Yay?
3. Slower than wifi. Very slow.
- I was literally averaging 3Mbps. 3?! Over wireless, I was getting 20-22mbps. I tired all setting and nothing.
4. Poor utility support
- their powerline utility does not directly support windows 10. The only way around it is to download winpcap manually and install it. Then you can install the utility.
5. Updating firmware ended the device.
- I tried updating the firmware on the device and guess what? The device is dead now. No LEDs. All gone. I even followed the instructions carefully. Match revision number, over Ethernet, and also no traffic during update.
Now, the device is dead. And I wasted the last 2 hours. Will return and will not buy again.
Really bad experience with TP Links so far.
Top reviews from other countries
I find this a lot more reliable since the wifi signal is unable to penetrate thick brick walls and the signal attenuates by the time it has passed through two or three walls. If you have an older home with copper piping, the signal attenuation is even worse. Consequently this is a more liable means for ensuring network access in other rooms.
I have in the past paired this with either a range extender in router mode, or with a run of the mill router. This works just as well with VOiP adapters, but that is all as expected.
One item of caution: If your home is old, or if you had wiring changes since the manufacturing of your home, you may need a knowledgeable electrician to upgrade your wiring. Improper grounding will spell death for this device.
The best Powerlink if one don't have gigabit LAN infrastructure in their home.
No installation required except pressing pair button, link established in less then 5second. Flawlessly streaming my 3d-bluray dump from NAS to AVR/Media player.
( i bought this with an offer, ~1400/- , so cant be more happy, and will buy more pairs when its available in that price range )
