This works for Comcast systems 2016+ Yes it will go to 345Mb.. .IF that speed is offered and you have many $$$ to pay for that speed per month. This brought my "FREE double speed upgrade" to 175Mb down. My older router could only do 70Mb. This is just a cable modem. Not any wireless. This will allow for ONE Ethernet connection. If you want multiple computers and any wireless, you need to buy a separate wireless ROUTER. You need an Ethernet wire from this Modem to that Router. How far apart those two are depends on where you can run that physical Ethernet cable around the house. That router plugs into this modem and can allow as many wired Ethernet connections as you wish. If the Router you buy has 5 Ethernet outlets and you need more then 5, plug in a Hub, and even a Hub can be plugged into another Hub. The wireless speed will depend on the Router you buy as well as the download speed you pay you ISP. The faster the speed, the more $$ per month. You can't get a 1700Mb Router and pay your ISP for 25mb down and expect blazing fast speeds. Wireless speeds also depend on your PC/Laptop, a dual core processor can only process so much and older laptops/PC may have slower G or AC wireless adapters. New USB wireless adapters/cards can upgrade your wireless speed, but you are then limited by the USB speeds or PC BUS speed. My Intel I5 with an SSD and 6Gb memory runs amazingly fast and downloads like a wired PC. Yet a single core Intel laptop is pretty slow on the same wireless network.

You must be on some sort of drugs if you think this modem is over-sized. It's fairly similar in proportions to any motorola. At any rate, compared to the enormous comcast gateway I replaced with this thing, it's tiny. I don't know what people are talking about when they say over-heating, it's fine. It runs amazing and doesn't broadcast an xfinity wifi access point without your consent like the rental modems. It saves me 10 or so dollars a month and my connection doesn't hang, or drop, or lag, or freeze. I no longer have rubber banding issues in rocket league. Same speed but actual consistency, so maybe just a non broken modem. I returned its predecessor to comcast and I didn't even have to give them my name and they printed off a receipt and I was on my merry way. Before I did, the TP-Link was activated and ready to play, I don't have the claustraphobia of poor connection and short circuiting or chopped up firmware anymore. Just an excellent and inexpensive quality modem which is supported by the Xfinity in the NW region-U.S...

It works with Mediacom and it saves you the $10 a month rental fee! Just beware if your trying to get more than a 200mbps plan get something beefier! I have the internet 100 plan and at my location I get over 130mbps on this so it works as advertised in my book. I’m an IT guy by trade so I like to think I can tell if something works well and this does so far. Time will tell on the longevity of it though. I definitely recommend anyone who doesn’t want to spend $10 a month renting to fork over the $40 and just get it. You’re saving money in four months. It’s a win win!

Works great on optimum network. I'm on the 200mbps plan and saw that the modem they gave me was an 8 channel down and 4 channel up just like this one. Setup was very easy. Just plug everything in and wait for all the lights. then got to the registration page on a web browser. enter your account info and it'll ask if you're replacing the modem. Just follow the instructions and it'll register and reboot this modem and you'll be good to go. I did a speed test and it was about the same as before swapped so I'm extremely pleased. that's 10 bucks a month I'll be saving and this only cost me about $40.

Plug-and-play, but has issue for DHCP

It is easy to use. Replace the rented box with it, and ISP (Xfinity) configure window popped. Provide the phone # and received activation code, put code int and then got Internet connected.
The one problem is that some devices (router and laptop) cannot obtain IP via DHCP, such as a couple of APPLE laptops, a Belkin 11g router (more than 10 year old). Windows 10 sometime may have trouble to get IP. Windows 7, BSD, Linux machines seem not having such DHCP problem.
Before this Modem is activated, it has 10.xxx.yyy.1 IP address; after it got activated, it got the remote IP address and it acting as a bridge. So, it is not clear the DHCP issue is at the Xfinity site or in this Modem. Just be aware this issue, and avoid wasting time on playing those devices with the known issue.

On Saturday I notice start.ca was listing a new 250/20 service in select cogeco areas. They have since dropped that listing, because the offering does not go live until October 1st. On Sunday I ordered this modem, as it was on the supported modem for the new service. But by Monday it was dropped from the list, because Cogeco sent out a new list of supported modems. It took me awhile to realise why Cogeco dropped this modem from this speed tier, since it is more than capable. Then I notice Cogego's website now lists a 60/10, 120/10, 360/20, ... They dropped the speed tiers between 120 and 360. So anything that does not support 360/20, will be blocked by Cogeco for anything about 120/10.

I was sadly disappointed, because despite the fact I ordered used, the modem looked absolutely brand new. I liked the simplicity of the design. It is well vented for cooling. I was really excited to see what this modem could do.

Stronger downstream signals

My downstream power levels increased by 2-3 dBmV compared to my old DCM476 modem, although upstream went down slightly by 0.5-1 dBmV. It's definitely a worthy trade off because my lines are decades old and every little boost helps. It's also been rock stable as far as internet connection. Looks like my previous modem is showing its age at 6 years as it was causing intermittent down times.

The TC-7610 is about as warm the DCM476 to the touch, but since the natural position is standing up versus lying down, all the ventilation holes can freely disperse/intake air. With the DCM476 modem, I had to purchase tiny cushions to stick them underneath in order raise it above the surface it was on for more air; with the TP-Link there's no need.
