I almost didn't buy this because of the scary reviews of people having problems, downloading their own drivers and jumping through hoops...but why? It comes with an INSTALLATION CD containing the drivers and a completely automated installation program which works flawlessly!!!
Honestly, I think some people simply failed to pull the cardboard insert out of the box to find the installation CD underneath. As long as you do that, you'll be very happy with this!
Popped in the CD. Unlike many other cards I've installed, the drivers were not available in a folder based on OS version but instead I was required to run a full setup application. This quickly ended up with an 'Unable to load the specified files’ popup with only a "Yes" button; no further explanation. A "Yes" button when an error occurs???
Went to their website and downloaded the latest driver I found there, from Feb 2018. Showed compatible OSes as Win 7, 8, 8.1 and 10. That went the exact same way as the CD setup. The same bizarre "Yes" button to acknowledge the error.
And then Amazon refuses to allow a return!! (But it looks like they will issue a refund.)
How can a manufacturer make such sub-standard software? I am sure the card works in many PCs, just not this off the shelf Dell. But then its hardware drivers which have always been one of the low points in software. And from the behavior of this software, the driver itself may not be the problem, just the installer software. Who knows.
Of course, not recommended.
Overall, I'd recommend this product if your PC is in a spot where it could get good signals otherwise you won't be happy with your purchase.
Also, I forgot to mention, it was plug/insert and play. All I had to do was connect to my wifi and I was set using Windows 10
You will have to install the drivers after installing the card, but the reason you should download them first is because, for whatever reason, once the card is installed and before the driver is installed, your network will slow to a crawl.
This is fixed after driver installation, but you will be sitting there for a long, long while when you try to access the site for the driver if you do not do this first.
As far as the card’s functionality, though, it works great. I accidentally bought a motherboard without a wireless card and needed to get the computer to have wireless functionality. Item connects to WiFi just fine now.

The real reason i went for this card is because it supports Ubuntu(18.04) and windows 10 without any additional drivers installed. This is the latest version 2.0,so works with latest OS.
Most USB based adapters won't work in Ubuntu, especially the ones with ac capability.
I personally use Ubuntu(18.04) and i haven't faced any connection problem.I simply plugged the card in the pci port and after booting to Ubuntu, the card gets recognized without any additional driver installation, but for windows install the driver provided in the DVD or just download it from tp-link website for stable connection.
While transferring files from my smartphone,i am getting around 8MB per second which is OK for me.May be others get better speeds with better smart phone.
Any way, overall it's a nice product. But i suggest going for ac models other than b/g/n because, you get better speeds for the same money. But remember that most of them won't work in Linux or Ubuntu, that's the reason i went for this product.
Anyway one thing you should remember when buying 2.4 ghz or single channel wifi card or dongle is though the advertised maxiumum speed is 300 mbps or 150 mbps you'll only get maximum link speed of 72 mbps due to 2.4 ghz restriction. So opting 150 mbps card would be sufficient and 300 mbps card or dongle not give any additional advantage over 150 mbps apart from dual antenna range coverage. If need above 72 mbps then need to buy 5 ghz or dual channel wifi cards. Tp link archer t6e would be an excellent choice.
Overall this is an excellent wifi card for basic wireless needs like using mobile internet in desktop, copying files between desktop and mobile etc.
After installing card make sure to enable 802.11d in adaptor settings to make it work. By default its disabled which might not work everywhere.
I do not game on this system, but I feel the bandwidth won't be a limiting factor. Have performed several Skype video calls and the performance was as good as my Laptop gave.
It's particularly a good option if you have a motherboard with no WiFi.
These have been running out in the factory for about two weeks now, and we haven't had any wireless disconnection problems. The factory is quite warm in the summer (approaching 35 celcius in some spots), and it's good that these can survive our hot summers. Unfortunately Windows 7 wasn't able to automatically download the drivers for the card, so I had to install them from the CD. In our Windows 10 test system the drivers were installed automatically.
Overall, this is a great way to add wireless to a desktop computer. While USB solutions exist, those commonly have heat problems and eventually cook themselves. This little card offers great performance, and is able to pick up the access point on either side of the floor.
Sin embargo el producto cumple con lo promete
UPDATE: you are not able to return the device - don't waste your money
No es necesario descargar software (tengo Windows 10)
Funciona bien y no he tenido ningún problema.
