WHEN I order AGAIN and I will, I will try a size shorter.
They look well and have received compliments and few realize they have the extra pockets until I show them. Zipper on extra pockets is low profile yet works when you need them. Zipper on the fly is very "beefy" and I like that too.
Pockets in the back are a little larger than they need to be... for me.
Repels water easily, material seems fairly strong but not heavy (cooler than jeans or other cotton pants).
And yes... most importantly... comfortable, flexible waist... very good for those who "carry" using a inside the pants holster with belt.
These have held up very well for me, I wear them to work and in the colder months I wear them as a football coach. the clean up well and are durable. I also really like the hidden pockets. Not so much because they are hidden, but because they are very secure. One of the things I never liked about most khaki tyoe pants is that the pockets are too loose and things fall out. I like the zipper pockets because I am able to put important things in them without fear of losing them when I sit down. They have a hidden elastic band too on the sides that is also nice as it makes the pants flex when you move and makes them even more comfortable.
Fit it typical Tru-Spec, with a very relaxed, almost baggy seat and legs and expandable waist. Fabric is lightweight, but sturdy. Lots of pockets, but the hidden design makes these look dressier than other Tru-Spec cargo pants.
My main complaint is the zippers on the hidden pockets. The zippers are a light-duty design that seem fragile and hard to operate. I see lots of complaints here about zippers breaking. Why couldn't they use a sturdier zipper on the pockets, like the one they use on the fly. Also, the hidden pockets all have vertical zippers, which makes it hard to get stuff in and out of the pockets. Horizontal pockets, like regular cargo pants use, would make the pockets much more functional. I'm giving these pants 3 stars because the pockets are far less useful than they could be.
Pockets: Since the pockets are the same on both sides I will discuss just a set of pockets. There are five pockets to a side, the usual rear pockets and front pockets. They are BIG pockets too! If your EDC is err, complete, expect it to fit with room to spare! Slightly to the rear of the front pockets are two more zippered pockets. These pockets have small opening making it hard to get your hand inside. Pickpockets won't like this feature! Once in though, you also have a lot of room! Your Passport and money is safe here! The pockets are made of a heavy fabric. They should not ever break and lose your stuff. Down the leg are two more pockets but here is where the pockets get too small. I really don't know what you would store here. I'd rather they left these out and made the thigh trimmer. The auxilary pockets have zippers but they are ahh, small. They have small pulls. I suppose you could install some split rings for a repair if they break. :-(
No cargo pockets so you won't look like Jungle Jim :-) Yaay!
The fabric is poly-cotton "rip stop". Nice and sturdy. Won't shrink. I got Black. The waist has elastic that works to hold your pants up going through TSA!
The seat is double stitched. You can trust you won't bust out. The legs at thigh level are roomy. If you don't like roomy pant legs get something else. Down at the cuff they taper to a more reasonable size. I wear 40 X 30 size and these nail it! Just the right length and waist.
If you like traveling ultra light and who doesn't, I think you'll like these pants. You could get away with wearing just one pair of pants for the entire trip and leaving a couple more pounds at home!

These pants work great for me. I can't wear pants with the cargo pockets to work. So luckily True-spec makes a tactical pant without them. Read morePublished 19 days ago by David Pontikes
