Save your money and get the TRX to go kit

It’s a great product but save your money and buy the TRX to go. I bought this one for my wife to use at home and bought the travel one to take with me when I travel. Both sets were exactly the same except this one has a rudimentary workout book. Even though both offer online workout guides. The included workout book is not worth the $50 difference.

I have used this TRX for six years with no problems. I weigh 235 pound and 73 years old. Today I was using the setup as usual, doing squats. I was just in the middle of my first set when the main attachment broke. Luckily I was going into the squat so I din't have far to fall, just missed the kettle bells. I hope the pictures give an idea of the break.
That being said The TRX is a good piece of kit. Stitches are good and the straps appear indestructible. But the attachment piece appears to be pot metal a real no no since it supports all the weight a steel clevis would be much safer. When you use your TRX it would be prudent to check the main attachment for cracks before putting weight on it. Buy it but beaware that it needs occasional inspection.

Workouts just got a little better

I am all about effective workouts that don't take to much of my time however bring results. This product is good for strength training at home, on vacation or at the office.

I like how durable the nylon is however anything over $150 is a little much for the system. There are similar systems for much cheaper and even Amazon sells them (example- URNFiT, green g-strap, Woss...)

There is truly no reason to get the DVD, cards or poster. You can watch a video for free online using any streaming system. ( YouTube, Google, Bing...)

Make sure you place the door anchor on a durable door or the anchor will cause damage to the door, do to body weight.

I like how easy it is to adjust the straps. I feel safe working out with this product. I love how The system doesn't take that much room. This system does make working out fun again. I wish I could have given this product 5 out o 5 stars but the price is steep.

I love this! It really challenges you and engages your core more than any plank I could do or HIIT workout alone. The TRX is a great alternative for weights, at least for me. The only thing I would caution is to make sure you hang this on a door that closes the same direction of your pulling. Meaning if you're pulling the TRX toward you with a workout, that door should be a door that also pulls closed. It works okay on doors that open toward you, but I have better piece of mind that I'm not just relying on a thin lock bar

Returning mine, but might be good for others

First the bad:
1) It's fussy. From exercise to exercise you need to adjust straps, then get into the exact position for the exercise you are doing, and for the amount of training effect you want. Getting feet in the straps is especially difficult. This takes away from exercise time.
2) Space. The instructions recommend a 6x8 foot space with non-slip surface. Well, if you set it up on a door, you're likely to be in an interior hallway, which won't have nearly that much space. If you have that much space, a good weight bench and set of adjustable dumbells will give you much more variety of exercises.
3) Limited exercises. It's not really that good for leg exercises, or for overhead presses. Most of the exercises you can do with this, you could do with bodyweight, or with a good pullup bar and a couple of chairs.
4) cost-benefit ratio. For what you get, it's expensive. A good inexpensive weight set will give more bang for the buck.

Now the good:
1) It's well-made. So far as I can tell, everything is sturdy and built to last.
2) Core: Everyone says TRX is good for core, and I can see why. The few exercises I did challenged my core--even the ones that weren't specifically targeting that.

Great addition to a workout routine

When our gym got these they were so popular you couldn't even get on them. My husband and I decided to get a set for our home too. It attaches to any beam or pole. We attach ours to one of the beams in our garage. It is easy to install and use. There are so many exercises you can use it for, lunges, squats, tricepts, etc. It uses your own body weight so also great for those who are worried about using heavy weights. It is lightweight and portable so you can take it with you on trips. All you need is something to hang it from. Comes with a draw string bag for storing or traveling with it. Also great for times when you can't get out of the house (kids napping, etc) when you just want to do a 20 minute workout.
