Some of that is to be expected of course based on the nature of the book, but even within the TSHOOT book itself there is repeated info (Chapters 13 and 14 the last two chapters are especially guilty).
The other two books (Switch, Route) were very good, but the only reason someone should read this book is for passing the CCNP exam, there's little to no practical value to the book since Route and Switch books teach u everything and u can just google or search Cisco's voluminous KB for any real troubleshooting you have to perform.
One nice thing about this book being almost completely derivative is that there are fewer typos and informational errors than most Cisco Press books (still a handful of course), so therefore it gets 2 stars for a properly done copying and pasting from other Cisco Press Curriculum.
Soon I'll be a CCNP, and I have to say due to this book and the hobbling of the certification back in 2010, it loses a bit of its "luster" for me.
Not the fault of the author, it is just the nature of the material.
But this was a good book and helped me prepare for the CCNP Tshoot exam pretty well.
I think, by itself, it may not be enough. I also suggest getting the Boson EX SImm Max software.
It is a pretty hard exam and you may need more than 1 preparation aid to truly get ready to pass it.
All in all i'd give this book 4 1/2 stars if I could.. the only reason I would not quite go 5 stars is because I think, by itself, it may not be enough for most people to pass the exam.
