So many others try and fail, it is time to let the TSTAND release you from the struggle of iPad use ;) tstand iPad bed stand helps you get the most out of your tablet or iPad. Use it as an iPad bed stand, as an iPad stand for the desktop, a second monitor or simply your day-to-day tablet use.
Easy to use: Insert any iPad or tablet into the tstand and use its sturdy H-shaped base to comfortably hold your device on your chest or desk. Your tablet remains stable and viewable at a comfortable angle!
Versatile: tstand focuses on the fact that tablets are multi-functional devices with myriad uses. In one step, the Tstand can go from a stand for watching movies in bed to a mini work station. It is also designed for maximum portability as well as comfort with its patented H-shaped base

Top customer reviews
Every movement on your bed makes this thing creak and squeak. One reviewer mentioned this and while I didn't ignore it, it wasn't something I was too concerned about at the time. And if you sleep alone this is no problem at all. But if, like me, you have a spouse (or other) you sleep with who goes to bed before you and therefore is asleep while you are reading, this can be a problem. Move the TSTAND lower or higher on your chest; squeak! Adjust the angle; squeak, etc. My wife is a fairly deep sleeper so this has only been a problem a few times. But I could see this being a problem with light sleepers.
So, 4 stars instead of 5. Other than the squeaks and creaks this product is great and works as advertised.
UPDATE: After posting this review I was contacted by the company informing me that a percentage of these stands went out with this squeaking problem but that it was not indicative of the majority of the stands. They insisted on making things right and very quickly sent me a new, non-squeaky stand. I have tried it out and the squeaking is gone! Hats off to a company that cares about its customers and its reputation. I therefore have changed my rating of this product to 5 stars.
If you have a Logitech Hinge Case for an iPad Air 2 like myself, you'll need to remove the case when using the TStand. When the Hinge Case is folded behind the tablet, it extends about an inch above the top of the tablet. Sometimes I can play that overlap height by pulling the case from the bottom, but then it's not a very secure fit in the stand.
Hopefully, I will be able to take a picture of the TStand that gives proper context to its small size. I originally was looking for a nighttime reading solution for a friend when I stumbled upon the TS. When I sent my buddy the link he responded that he didn't want something so big and bulky. Ironically, I ended up buying the stand--albeit for a different purpose entirely.
I play guitar and often sit on public benches. I was looking for a portable, lightweight stand that would elevate my iPad to relieve neck and back fatigue. While I still could use something significantly taller, the TStand has really made things easier. However, I found a DIY solution for increasing the height by x2. It's a real Hillbilly Hack, but it works.
Summary - highly versatile stand for iPad Air 2. It's too expensive IMHO, but I do understand that it's sort of a boutique item, and given its Kickstarter roots, I suspect the entrepreneurs have higher production costs than a big company like Logitech. On the other hand, the Logitech Hinge case costs about the same. I just feel that a good stand shouldn't cost more than $40. Would I buy another TStand? Absolutely.
Suggestion for future versions: I would like to have it fold completely flat. It wastes quite a bit of space in my bag. Obviously, the curved legs prevent that from happening. Would be great to have adjustable legs that have two positions -- straight (for folding) and bent (for viewing from chest).
I would also like a version that holds tablets higher (for musicians). I have found that it could be done simply in 2 different ways.
It's a creaker in bed mode. Due to pliability and/or rigidity of materials used, makes small creaks when move, reposition, adjust the screen, etc all. When using at night with a sleeping better half by your side, you will need to be careful. It can wake up your significant other if she/he is a light sleeper. It's really not an issue for most people I'm sure, but my wife can hear a pin drop in her sleep.
If my in ear monitors swing and knock against the plastic, it's very loud.
In desktop mode, the screen tends to bounce when typing. It's a rigid sort of bounce or vibration. Not overly annoying for most duties, but it's not as smooth an experience as you may like. I wouldn't want to write any novels on it in desk mode. In bed, however, I tend to rest my left middle finger on the top left edge of my iPad and use my left thumb with right hand for smooth typing.
One more thing - when using as a table top stand, the TStand's surface is very smooth. On a park bench, it's very slippery. I attached adhesive-backed rubber feet, which you will see in the pictures. Now it's stable and the finish is protected. Perfect.
