Didn't work for me. Positive I have tv-out. Using it now on similar cord. I'm sure it was a random manufacture flaw, as it does seem to work well for others. This is just my luck. So, I don't want to downplay this product, at all.

Product did not do as was expected, caused me to have issues with the graphics on my computer resulting in a re installation of the graphic driver.

Would not rate it lower as the problem could lie with my computer and not with the actual product, however seen as i do not have access to a secondary computer i am unable to tell or fully test this out.

works well to project a laptop presentation on a tv. i teach a lot of classes & sometimes have to use a laptop presentation, which may be difficult for a larger group to see. often a tv is available so i can plug & play. saves on having to haul a projector around.

This product does not work. Do not buy this product. Many folks have mentioned that this works if it has a TV out. My PC does have a TV out, and I had verified this with my manual and the manufacturer (nVidia), and still does not work. I have tried with three different TVs and no luck. The worst part is majority of the charge is on shipping ($6 for a USPS first class mail. What a rip off), and returning this product would probably cost most that what I would eventually get. I just trashed this product, got a new video card for $30 (PNY with VGA, S-Video, and DVI), and works like a charm. Save yourself some money, time and frustration. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

I read through many other reviews, and learned of the possibility that my TV might not be capable of receiveing a signal from my laptop (which ended up being the case), but at this price I was willing to take a chance. This cable was MUCH less expensive than any local source I found. It is EXACTLY as advertised. Arrived in good condition, and arrived in a timely manner.

I bought the item to send video image from an older laptop with only a VGA output into a large LCD TV with an S-Video input. The signal won't go this direction, I assume that it only works the other direction, but I have no need for that. Basically, I bought a part that I don't need, and it didn't specify that it must be only one directional. I haven't wasted my time asking for a refund on a 3 dollar part though. I will warn others though, that if they are planning on doing what I did, it won't work.

Most people here are trying to hook this up to their laptops or personal computers and then run either an S-Video or Video cable to their televisions. As I understand, this won't work unless your computer supports TV Out. The reasons for this is because TV's operate on an NTCS signal whereas your computer operates on an Analog signal. Even your Computer LCD/CRT Screen is analog.

My laptop does support TV Out. However, what I was attempting had nothing to do with hooking up to a TV so I didn't think I had anything to worry about. After much research and to the best of my knowledge, the S-Video port on my laptop is Analog. The VGA port is loose and thus doesn't work, so I tried connecting this device to my monitor and then running the S-Video cable down from there to my laptops S-Video port. It didn't work. So if that's what you're trying, now you know, it won't work. It should as far as I can tell or know, but it doesn't for whatever reason. The only explanation that I can think of is that the S-Video port on my lappy sends out NCTS and not Analog, which my computer monitor can only receive (decode) analog.
