From the manufacturer
Specifically designed with the recreational swimmer in mind, our caps are extremely comfortable and refuse to pull or snag. Best suited for warm water use or in conjunction with an outer-cap, the Swim Cap doesn't provide the insulating benefits of our silicone and latex caps, but it will definitely provide the performance. Designed with a precision fit for reduced drag, the Swim Cap will accommodate adult and youth sizes. UPF 50+.

I also learned the trick of wetting my hair before a swim and putting a light leave-in conditioner in, before stuffing it underneath the swim caps, in order to have the least amount of chlorine water absorbed. I tried using a silicone cap alone - they provide good protection, but with all my hair it was just a complete pain to get it all underneath the silicone cap. The addition of the lycra cap makes the whole hair preservation process a lot simpler.
Lycra caps are designed to minimize drag and keep hair out of your face while swimming, but they don't add any extra warmth or water protection to your hair, so if you are looking for a cap that will protect your hair and keep your head dry, you should check out latex or silicone caps. But if you just want a cap you can easily pull on to keep the hair out of your eyes, this is a great option.
If you want an easy-on, easy-off cap to keep your hair under control, this is the cap to get. If you're trying to keep your hair dry under a cap, you need to look elsewhere for a silicone or latex cap.
We were both pleased at how well this cap kept the hair smooth on top of her head, greatly reducing the tangles. It fits comfortably and is easy for her to put on, even with the braid hanging out of the back. She's used it all this summer, and it still looks like new.
The red is a lot brighter than the picture shown, more like American flag red.
I have a tyr jammer that is lasting for 1 year and counting, this tyr lycra cap was retired after only two months. I have found the elasticity is much less and it appears to be shedding the elastic in large patches where I would pull it on. Looks like little pieces of lint, but after further inspection it is the elastic strands breaking up. I stopped wearing it when it got real loose and looked ridiculous. When it was new it was hard to tell it from a tight silicone cap. I can now easily stretch the thing over my entire head, my head is large so this is significant, and easily see through the thinned material.
I hope to find a better quality lycra cap, or a more comfortable silicone model for my fat head.
