Tacit a Mortuis begins immediately after The Broken Puppet and we are immediately brought back into Madison Montgomery's life and see the consequences and aftermath of the revelations at the end of book two. Without giving away ANY spoilers, Madison is now forced to deal with the secrets that were revealed to her which she now has to reconcile with what she thought to be true. Her main question: Is Bishop Hayes her biggest protector or is their relationshop another facade she has to break through in order to get to the truth?
GAHHH this book was AMAZING!!!!! What I loved about this story is the fact that the author proved that she definitely doesn't pull her punches and delivered a one two combo that left us flailing. This author's writing style is not only versatile but almost beautifully poetic. The conclusion to this story was outstanding and Madison and Bishop were pure Kindle Crack. Their chemistry was FIRE and their sexytimes were nothing short of electrifying. And that ending was crazy - Good Lord!! This story was filled to the brim with a strong heroine, HOT AF alpha males, a mystery that will rock your world and an epic storyline that took ALL the names. All the secrets, lies and skeletons in the closet we could ever imagine came out and left me wanting more. This is one of my favorite trilogies of all time! Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula
There has been times the behaviour of Madison is annoying. I could understand her being annoyed at Bishop hiding the information about her Mum but then to turn around and do what she did was dumb but then again I think with the sex scenes that are written in these books makes it seem all the characters are older than what they actually are and I guess I have a hard time with the sex scenes because they are with prep school age kids.
I wanted to see more of Madison and Daemon spending time together and ask questions about their time apart or something significant but again it never happened. I was disappointed in the last book because for two long lost twins there was nothing substantial between them or given more of an insight into Daemon but it really never came. There was more from Bishop than there was with Madison.
This book didn't flow as well for me as the first two. Yes I enjoyed it in the sense of the series has progressed but it just seemed it was jumping all over the show and jumping from one scene to another scene with in a paragraph.
I do have to say the constant song and singer references through out these books has started to grate though. Just saying. Since I wouldn't have the faintest idea who these artist are makes reading those bits a waste of time and space. Again a personal preference I guess.
Without giving too much away I have to say the big scene at the end was confusing AF. While I was reading it I was like OMG only to read a few paragraphs later that nope everything with everyone was ok. Huh...? I even had to think did I read that right and go back to re-read it to make sure I had.
Overall it was still pretty good and I love these characters and do look forward to see where Amo takes us.
Well I almost broke another kindle, almost. I refrained from throwing another one against the wall while reading Tacet a Mortuis so Ms. Jones you don’t need to replace another one just yet. Now I need therapy, a cigarette (I’ll point out I quit ten years ago but holy shit I needed one or twenty while I was reading) and lots and lots of wine. Wait; add in multiple changes of panties because Bishop is well you all know how sexy he is and he is even hotter in this one that the previous two. Okay I had better point out if you haven’t read The Silver Swan and The Broken Puppet, and seriously why haven’t you, you need to first before starting Tacet a Mortuis or you will have no idea what is going on.
I have tried to write this review for days. My mind is still ^%$#@! up and I am in the book hangover from #@!!. Bishop and Maddie will have you on the edge of your seat. This one had my heart beating out of my chest so fast that I thought my heart would explode. The angst, the did I just read what I think I just read moments, the I hate you Bishop one minute but love you the next, Maddie girl don’t push him moments, just that and so much more. I cried in anger, I cried in confusion and I cried in heartbreak because there is one part that destroyed my heart and soul. We have some questions answered but only to be left with twice as many more. Maddie really cemented herself as a character I truly loved; she has been destroyed, broken and put back together again. The relationship between her and Bishop is still as intense as ever but even more so now. Things happen, emotions are at an all-time high you want to throttle both of them but you also have to wait and see how it will play out.
Be prepared to ignore everything else around you when you start Tacet a Mortuis because if you are anything like me you HAVE to know what happens and can’t put it down until you do. I have no clue how I am going to survive waiting for the next book, so Ms. Jones can I ask that you do a book whore a favor and give me more!
