Now a little history on why I bought the product.... I've been above average at PC multiplayer games since the 90s, and subpar at console multiplayer games in the same time frame. I've always felt keyboard/mouse controls were more natural than a controller, and have never had patience with first person shooters on consoles because of my perception of controllers being inferior. The one problem: I've always had friends who exclusively play consoles, and while I generally have owned whatever console they played on, whenever I played with them I felt like I didn't pull my weight, which deterred me from playing with them.
Cons: I've owned many gaming mice, controllers, keyboards, and game pads over the years, and the build quality of the TAC Pro is reminiscent of a pack-in keyboard and mouse I once got for free when I bought a gaming PC (not good). The mouse feels especially cheap, with it being very light with cheap plastic all around. The side buttons feel sunk-in and are not ideally placed, and the game pad is claimed to be "mechanical" but feels more like a typical non-mechanical keyboard. For $150, I expect much better. This product, despite being licensed by Sony, is essentially a controller that is built to emulate the feeling of a keyboard and mouse, and is not a true keyboard and mouse. Unfortunately, you will be able to notice and there will be a learning curve to adjust to this feeling.
Pros: With a little patience and customization, this will give keyboard/mouse users a huge advantage over controller users in online multiplayer games(specifically first person and some third person shooters). You won't get perfect results, but it's close enough (if you spend the time adjusting it) to justify the price tag. The ergonomics are actually solid on the game pad, as my fingers have no problem reaching all the keys quickly and comfortably. I own a Razer Orbweaver, and while the build quality on the Orbweaver is far superior, the ergonomics of the TAC pro are actually better.
Conclusion: This is borderline cheating if you spend enough time with it. If that sounds fun to you, purchase it :)
If you are a PC gamer and your want to switch from PC to console, this is for you. You will struggle with sensitivity, you will struggle with faulty input when trying to aim precisely but you will struggle more with a controller.
I would not say that this makes you a better player or even makes the battlefield uneven. This device is a familiar platform for PC gamers and is a necessity for you if you fit that criteria.
Don't buy this if you can't handle a little imperfection. It will make you angry. I am a very patient person, so I can handle the buggy mouse.
I would give it 5 stars but the mouse needs work like I said before. I'm not sure if it would even be capable of perfectly emulating a PC gaming mouse. It's not smooth when trying to get those important kills. If you ever played Counter Strike, you would know how important it is to have a precise hit and if you used this on that game you would never be mlg.
EDIT: I plugged in my Logitech gaming mouse and it works wayyyy better. Still small issues but it is compatible with other mice! If you want this, you can use your own mouse from PC gaming. Do it!
Just to note, I've had this item for months, waiting to get a feel for it first and deciding weather or not this is better than the standard Dualshock 4 on PS4 (hint: it totally is). I've tried it out on everything from Overwatch, Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2, Final Fantasy XV, and Final Fantasy XIV (an MMO). The material used to make the mouse and keyboard is extremely durable and comfort to use for those lovely never ending gaming sessions.
