    I own a business in Seattle that imports Venetian Plaster and Tadelakt from Europe. I have over a hundred books about decorative plastering and painting. I think this book, for both professionals and novices, is by far the best book on the subject of Tadelakt I've ever come across. It is compact and to the point. It is accessible for any novice but it is detailed enough for a professional applicator to learn something. Author is very knowledgeable. I've probably read it 3-4 times.

    The two star reviewer on this book is disappointed that it does not have actual recipes for making your own Tadelakt at home. They are correct, it does not. Same as books on painting generally do not have recipes for how to make paint. As long as you are not trying to learn how to make Tadelakt from scratch but just want to know what it is, how to apply it, learn about the chemistry, the history, the modern context of Tadelakt, and see some great photos of installations, this is an excellent book.

    Like another reviewer, I would say this book is nicely decorated and heavy on pictures. Perhaps a little light on content, but I think it serves its purpose well enough; it gives a good description of the history, culture in which it developed, chemistry and application. The bulk of knowledge beyond that, from what I gather, is something best found by practice and experimentation.

    This book has loads of lovely arty colour photos, great for the coffee table but is light in content. The typeset layout has the text column taking only one third of the page width, and the entire text would fit into an essay of less than ten pages (by my guesstimation).

    There is a nice intro that sets tadelakt into the context of Morroccan culture which is well written. The chapter on the composition and processes of making tadelakt is very superficial, and the discussion of the finishing using black soap is incomplete. I was hoping to learn how the soap is made and of what, and in particular what substitutes might be possible.

    I bought this book hoping to get enough information to make and use tadelakt without needing to buy imported product from the other end of the world (quite literally). In this regard I am left wanting as it is not primarily an instructional but more so a descriptive book. To be fair though the price isn't too high for what it is.

    The book might suit you though, if you don't have my expectations and it's a "nice" little introductory text (at best an 'article') on the subject.

    Some better marketing information re content of the book would go a long way for ensuring buyers didn't have unrealistic expectations.

    I live in the United States and I would like to use this technique. It would be helpful to have better information on getting supplies or what would be acceptable substitutes that are easily available in the USA, and more basic instructions like Instructables.

    Si piensas coger el libro para aprender los secretos del Tadelakt, no es tu libro.
    El libro aporta poca información acerca del proceso para realizar el tadelakt y pasa de puntillas en lo referente a los aspectos que más pueden interesar al quien lo compre con la intención de aprender este arte como era mi caso.
    Le doy tres estrellas porque por lo menos la maquetación y las fotos que contiene son espectaculares.
