I like that Spirituality comes in many forms. I realize that I have more spiritual fulfillment out of a morning run than the ritual of church going on Sunday. In fact, I gain more out of one morning run than a year of going to church each Sunday for a year. It allows me time to converse with God, my ancestors, and Mother Earth. The gentle breeze blowing on my face, the colorful world, and the warm sun shining on my back helps me realize that everything around me is living. This gives a sense of renewed energy deep within my soul.
I also like that I feel completely content teaching our kids this type of Spirituality, as they are often biking along side of me as I run. We have very deep discussions about fulfilling our life callings and purposes we have on this earth. We love to talk about nature, God, and their Great Grandparents, we sing, we laugh, and we dream. I cherish this time to teach them about their heritage!
I feel like you did a really good job of expressing my belief that each family/individual has what is right and works for them. What works for us might not work for another family and what works for that family might not work for us. If we can all respect and encourage each other to do what is best for our/their family then we can successfully coexist in peace.
I'm looking forward to reading the rest of your series.
