Abbi Glines is a fantastic author who does an excellent job interacting with her readers. She once again delivers a heroine who I absolutely love......Harlow is amazing and she packs a bite I really didn't see coming. She doesn't lay down for Nan or Grant. It was refreshing seeing her hold her own against Nan, Blaire could actually take a few lessons from Harlow on how to shut Nan up. But Grant was a bit of of a disappointment for me. I really looked forward to this book because I loved the Grant I saw in the other books in this series. I thought he would actually take Woods's place as my favorite guy from Rosemary Beach, but unfortunately it was not to be. Grant let me down in the beginning of the book. Really his actions were what I consider douchbag terrority. He tries to redeem himself in the middle of the book, but just as I was warming to him......he let me down again. Sorry, real men stand by the woman they love. And even if Grant isn't sure he loves Harlow, real men stand by women they care for and he had no problem turning his back on Harlow. Yeah, I get Grant has issues, get in line we all do. I do admire Abbi for staying true to Grant's character. He is a selfish guy who likes to screw around. He has no clue how to deal with Harlow so as you can imagine he makes a lot of mistakes. But for me, I really didn't like what I saw in Grant; he wasn't the guy I thought he was. He had all this great advice for Rush concerning Blaire and was a great friend to Woods, Bethy, Jace, etc....but he's a terrible potential boyfriend. I really don't think I will read the next installment of Harlow and Grant's story. I can't get over the ick factor of Grant with Nan or how he treated Harlow. Harlow deserves a better guy. So 5 stars for Harlow, 1 star for Grant and as always Nan gets less than zero. I am actually still waiting for Nan to get what she really deserves! I am still a big fan of Abbi and look forward to Krit's story in April (I preordered!!).

I’m on hiatus from reviewing; however, the second my greedy little eyes landed on an email regarding Grant's book, I just knew I had to come out of hiding for him. I've loved our (sexy as hell) hero from the minute I laid eyes on him in Rush's book. I'm a little torn over the many thoughts arguing amongst themselves inside my head. Not sure if it's the fact that I have come off of two totally amazing series or what, but this one felt as though it was just missing that little bit of somethin’ somethin’ I’d originally felt upon meeting Grant.

Why am I on the fence?

I think a lot of it has to do with the character of Grant I built up in my mind vs. the Grant we came to know through his journey with Harlow. There was the first half of the book Grant and then the second half of the book Grant, which left me so damn confused. I truly am torn right now; I really wanted to love Grant as much as I loved Rush. And I did to an extent. There were parts I adored about him and then there were the WTF moments that left my mind boggled. Maybe it’s because throughout the series, we’ve never really seen Grant through his own eyes; he’s always been portrayed through the eyes of his family and friends. And the Grant his family portrayed (at least in my mind) was this kick ass, sweet guy with a bad boy underlining. Therefore, in my opinion, the character Abbi built before my eyes was not the same Grant she has given us in his book. This version of “Grant” left me feeling a bit achy and nostalgic.

I’m going to be perfectly honest; for me, he felt like a weaker version of the perception I had grown to love. This “Grant” almost became a DNF. It took me a little bit to connect and even then I held back from truly falling head over heels for him.

“My kitten has claws and apparently only you bring them out. Sleeping with the evil sister has put you on my baby girl’s (…) list.”

There is something about an Abbi Glines book that gets to me every single time without fail. Her stories are not just consistently engaging and compelling, but each new book feels like she’s pushed the envelope one step further, taken her characters one extra step into the uncharted territories of her own endless imagination. You never know what you’re going to encounter, what kind of story she has weaved for us this time around, but one thing is certain – each book is a skin-tingling joy ride start to finish and it just keeps getting better and better.

After meeting him in the very first scene of Fallen Too Far as the guy Blaire aims her gun at, and then seeing him as the perennially level-headed and dependable fixture in all five instalments of the Rosemary Beach series, we finally get to properly meet Grant Carter and discover the man behind that panty-dropping smile. Grant is the stepbrother that Rush Finlay shortly had, but regardless of their parents’ marital status, they’ve been brothers through and through since they were little kids. Known as a perpetual womanizer just like his brother once was, Grant is not discreet when it comes to the identity of his many conquests, all but one – the woman at whose beck and call he has been for a long time and whose insistent hold over him he doesn’t seem to be able or willing to escape from – Rush’s younger sister Nan. A dysfunctional and volatile relationship from the very beginning, their connection is based purely on physical attraction, but its very existence stands in the way of the only genuine emotional bond Grant has ever formed with another woman.
