One night after a bad week at work, I picked up the book again, accepted the challenge and started to follow the journaling process that she recommends. In truth I have found it to be helpful. Somehow having detailed instructions makes the process of facing my own emotions more manageable and less confusing.
The hardest step for me is identifying my emotions. The lengthy list at the back of the book is extremely useful. I look over the list, take a guess at what seems to resonate with what I'm feeling, and often that helps me find a word for it.
I appreciate the well-laid-out structure, which is clear enough to remember and use even when I'm stressed out. I have continued to do the journaling and I feel grateful for this book.
As for me, well read on the subject, the book doesn't hold my interest for long, as there's not a lot of ground-breaking information here.
But, overall, I do give it four stars, mainly for those new to the field of Christian Psychology.

However, if you find that this is not enough and would like more guidance on learning what the Scriptures say in this, I highly recommend the following teachings by Andrew Wommack as a supplement.
If you google "Andrew Wommack Spirit Soul & Body Audio Teaching" you should be able to find it.
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control."
In my own experience, learning to recognize the God-given spirit within myself has helped me overcome my anxiety and depression far better than trying the 7 steps.
