This platter is a revelation for anyone that thinks LS is now anything other than a rather lame tribute act, as Dale has ALWAYS been a great singer, one can't help but think that she's been WASTED simply singing backup, as somebody who saw LS many times in their prime, it's sad what they are now, and hence to think that the Rossingtons should be doing this full time. This is a fine CD, excellent, heart felt songs by good writers, again, just what LS is NOT, and let's face it, Gary as well is wasted in LS, here, you remember just what a potent talent he has been. At least the Allmans went out on top, and Gregg's final CD is proof positive just WHY the ABB were the undisputed kings, just score the FOX BOX, that settles it, so if you like cats like Delbert McClinton/Lee Roy Parnell, THIS is your cup of hemlock, and to hear Dale back ruling, well, this is really good, I mean REALLY good, I hope that enough folks stumble onto this to remind people that this couple STILL can "testify", as a fan I was there for the very GENESIS of this style/genre, this blows away the so-called "Bro Country" rubbish that clogs up the identi-kit scene out there now, so score this and try and remember when this genre was young and vital, because this IS just that!

As a fan of all things Skynyrd and Rossington/ Collins I was kind of expecting this to be similar. The songs are good and Dales voice is still awsome but the previous albums were more "Rock" while this leans more "Country. If you're into country you might find this more interesting.

I readily admit that I dont have too many guitar heroes, but Gary Rossington's voice really speaks to me, and in my opinion he is a big mercy from God to the world, in his music and his story and his example. I am so glad I found this cd, and it comes at a time when I needed a really good one. Dale's voice is so vibrant and strong but with nothing that feels aggressive. This just feels like honest, forged-in-fire, rubber-meets-the-road music from people who sure can put their money where their mouth is in that regard. It has integrity, humor, and soul. Rare. and top notch. While there are common threads in each song, it doesn't feel so much like an intentional project but like it just came out like a flower opens up. All the people who worked with them really seem to get it. And within those threads, there is still a lot of variety. Complex, multi-dimensional - like I imagine the people behind it.

This is an excellent CD. Powerful vocals from the First Lady of Southern rock and great musicianship all throughout. The songs are diverse and strong. To the guy who said there are only "1 or 2 OK songs" I have to disagree wholeheartedly. As for your insulting comment about Dale's voice all I can ask is have you never heard Dale's voice before? She has ALWAYS had a ballsy, slightly raspy, rough styled singing style. This ain't Jewel we're talking about. Anyway, I hope we don't have to wait long for another album by Gary and Dale. Dale sounds just like she did in RCB and Gary tears it up on his soloing. I've waited a long time for an album of this quality with Dale Krantz back as lead singer. 7 stars.

If you’re buying this CD, then you probably know who Gary and Dale Krantz-Rossington are. This album is NOTHING like anything they’ve done before. There’s not even a hint of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rossington-Collins Band or The Rossington Band. But don’t let that stop you! This is a solid album! Gary and Dale wrote a few of the tunes, but most are written by hired hands. I would give this CD 5 stars, but the production quality is a tad uneven.

PS- THE SONG "WHERE DID LOVE GO" HAS WRAPPED ITSELF COMPLETELY AROUND MY HEART, AND WON'T LET GO. TO ME, THIS HEARTBREAKING SONG IS A CLASSIC IN THE MAKING. NEVER HAS HEARTBREAK SOUNDED SO GOOD.

When I learned a short while ago that Gary Rossington was going to release a new album with his wife Dale on vocals I was so excited and I pre-ordered it straight away. I absolutely loved the Rossington Collins LP 'Anytime, Anyplace, Anywhere' (which Classic Rock criminally labelled as a record to avoid) from 1980 with Dale on lead vocals. I thought Dale's vocals were up there with the best female rock vocals ever. It is a disappointment that there are not a whole heap of albums with her lead vocals on them - she's a great singer.

But then I was also nervous about this record. I tend to think when great artists get older they often lose the original fire in their bellies that made them great. Yes they can still play well - but can they create as well. I think Robert Plant and Jeff Beck have made great new records in their later years - but I can't think of too many more among the older generation of the great rock artists. Having said that, Skynyrds' last LP 'Last of a Dying Breed' was also excellent.

Well on to this record, 'Take It On Faith'. My initial feeling is that it is excellent but it's a record you need to live with for a while to fully appreciate its charms. It doesn't leap out at you immediately like the aforementioned Anytime, Anyplace, Anywhere. It's a slower record that feels like it's been marinated in whisky for years. So you have to live with it.

Dale's voice is still superb - it sounds matured like a good bourbon. And Gary's guitar is absolutely fantastic throughout - this is a big highlight. You will be compelled to listen to this record repeatedly simply for the superb guitar.

The Skynyrd kin have brought us so much great music - and 'Take It on Faith' is an intriguing addition to the legacy. So pleased to have it now.

I have only listened to this a couple of times - but so far I like it a lot. I really did not know what to expect from Gary, given his heritage with Lynyrd Skynyrd.
I guess it is basically a soulful-blues album - and for my tastes not too much "country" feel to the tracks (some "country rock" becomes too "chugalong" for my tastes, but not on here).
Overall the sound is great, and Dale Rossington's voice comes across perfectly. She has a truly great voice. The guitar work is cutting and I really think the production of the album is perfect. I don't know who is actually playing the lead or solos, as their are several guitars credited on the album.

Having watched the recent DVD of Lynyrd Skynyrd's 2015 concert, Lynyrd Skynyrd Title: Pronounced 'L h-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd & Second Helping Live From Jacksonville At The Florida Theatre [Blu-ray ] I observed that Gary did not seem to take many lead licks or solos, and I wonder if the same might be the case on here. In a way I like that the "lead" guitarist on each track is not listed or identified - instead of comparing or judging, we can simply enjoy the overall tracks.
I tend to assume that most of the slide playing would be from Gary - but again, it is not too important if it isn't.

It definitely comes across as an album that was made because the artists wanted to make it - and it was not simply a way to keep in the public eye or to fulfil some sort of contractual obligation.

Oh and I noticed that Bekka Bramlett is also on here (daughter of Delaney and Bonnie - although I admit I had to look that detail via google to see if she was related, I discovered that she was ).

Hard to say if this is a 4-star or 5-star album , but maybe that is not so important. It is certainly a good album and so far I haven't identified any track that I think is weak or makes me think "why is that track included?"

Well, this was a nice surprise, after having a friend bombard me with the modern Southern music, which quite frankly is lukewarm and uninspiring at best, I bought this album and it's absolute joy to my ears. Great song writing, production and mastering, you really get your moneys worth on this cd! Take it on Faith, Dance while your Cookin', I should have Known, Highway of love etc showing some very polished performances. If the younger bands out of the south would listen to this and learn, they could up their game. Well done Mr & Mrs Rossington, I am very happy thank you.

The Rossington album is great (a relatively new release). Not what I expected but not a huge departure either. The hairs stood up on the back of my neck when Gary played a solo (or just his fills and slide work), one of the solo's is reminiscent of a Skynyrd solo but who cares. The music is great, and Dale's vocals are even better!! She nails this project together in a manner that I wasn't expecting, in a real soulful and bluesy way - she sounds black at times. She's spent much of her career on BV's (38 Special & Skynyrd) but she is a great talent. Does she wonder what might have been??? Who knows, have a listen online if you get the chance. Highly recommended, do yourself a favour:-P

Rossington tribute to Richie Hayward

Great rocking blues album. I got this especially because it seems to be the last studio recording of Richie Hayward on drums before he passed in 2010. He was the driving force behind Little Feat who have always been a favourite band of mine since the 80's. Dale Rossington has a voice like liquid silk and I can't fault any track on the album.
