...and I mean that title in the BEST possible way. This is an epic record for anyone that appreciated the intensity and simplicity of Arena Rock in the 80's. The bonus DVD included in one of the Limited Editions includes a behind the scenes, "making of" this album in which they talk about their influences: Motley Crue, Def Leppard, KISS, Guns n' Roses, Aerosmith, etc. This record is the ultimate homage to that brand of rock and roll.

The opening track "Use Me" is an amazing way to kick off the album. It's raw, it's cliche', and it's amazing. The chorus has such a hook that you'll want to headbang-even if you're in your cube at work streaming your music.

The title track "Take It To The Limit" features the uncomparable Mick Mars (from Motley Crue) playing guitar with the band. Mick Mars was (and still is) one of the premier rock and roll guitarists and it echoes with the new generation. At 60 years old, he's living proof that you're never too old to turn the amps up.

"Loaded and Alone" is a great throwback to any 80's metal story about a kid with big dreams and finding out it's not what they really wanted. The song flows like it should have been in a teen movie from twenty years ago.

Scattered throughout the rest of the album, you'll find catchy ballads, sing and answer choruses, and songs that capture an unforgettable time for rock. You'll be nodding your head at the pulse of this album while it leaves you with a feeling of familiarity. What's old is new again!

Fans of "Extreme Behavior" might be a little disappointed with this record. While they maintain some of their signature sounds, it's the band paying tribute to their influences. Fans of the bands mentioned in the 1st paragraph should easily love this album. I almost felt like it was a symbiote of "KISS-Crazy Nights", "Motley Crue-Girls, Girls, Girls", "GNR-Appetite For Destruction", "Bon Jovi-Slippery When Wet", and "Def Leppard-Hysteria". Rock on!!

I first heard Hinder back in2007 when Better than Me and Lips of an Angel were on the radio a lot. Being a fan of a lot of alternative rock I quickly became a fan of Hinder. I bought Extreme Behavior and liked it. Then I heard about Take it to the Limit and bought it two years ago along with its followup. Take it to the Limit features some of my favorite tracks the band has ever produced. Highlights include Use Me, Loaded and Alone, Last Kiss Goodbye, Without You, The Best is Yet to Come and Heaven Sent. The album closes with another favorite of mine, Far from Home. Needless to say I was extremely saddened to learn recently that Austin Winkler was leaving the band. They won't be the same without his vocals.

Music is a personal thing - I can't tell you what you like. BUT, I recommend that you give "Use Me" a listen. It is representative of this CD and has some dual rock guitar work in some ways similar to AC/DC & Rhino Bucket - my personal preferences for wheel time. You might be pleased to know that Hinders vocals, are much easier on the ears than the two prior examples. Fly low on your own schedule and leave your shoes on.

I'm an 80's hairband/metal guy. (Motley Crue, RATT, Iron Maiden) I like the rocking songs on this CD however they just didn't have the staying power I had hoped for. Don't get me wrong, it's a good CD however after a few times it gets passed over.

I think this is my favorite CD by Hinder. It's a shame that it doesn't get air play because there are some really good songs on this CD. If you like Hinder or hard rock I would highly recommend checking out this CD.

I knew that I had to get this one because I always liked the front man of Hinder- Austin Winkler {I think that's his name I'm not sure} I've always liked the band.... Take Care and God Bess. Sincerely Yours, Danielle Schreiner

A bit of a throw-back to the late 80's sound. Big anthemic songs, huge hooks, singalong choruses, great production . "Loaded and alone" & the more reflective "Far from home" are favorites. Even mick mars guests on this cd.Brings back memories of 80's rock when music was fun and horny.

Hinder gels as a band, the instrumentation is top notch. These songs are uplifting and big sounding. If they had put another "chick" on the album cover they would've sold platinum instead of gold. JMHO, I really like Hinder's brand of rock.
