Jenny is back in Marietta to get married but the groom changes his mind right before the wedding. She flees from the church and
Colton is back in town to be the honorary chair at the Copper Mountain Rodeo. The rodeo is celebrating their seventy-fifth anniversary.
Colton ends up rescuing Jenny as she flees the church. She has always had a secret crush on him.
Colton and Jenny have both experienced hurts from previous relationships. They start spending time together. There is an undeniable attraction and chemistry between them. Will they walk away from this attraction or is it too intense to walk away from?
This is an excellent quick read. I love Jane's style of writing. The reader could feel the characters' emotions and visualize the surroundings. This is a flirty, passionate, and heartwarming romance with some steamy scenes!
This novella is great for a quick escape. I look forward to reading more books by Jane Porter.
Executive Assistant extraordinaire, Jenny Wright, is back in her hometown of Marietta Montana, looking beautiful in her bridal attire as she prepares to walk down the aisle. Unfortunately, it is at this time that Charles, her husband-to-be and boss, decides that he does not want to get married. Working with her and living together is just fine, but marriage is not. Of course Jenny is upset and feels like her entire future has been swept out from under her. However, when the man she has crushed on since she was able to walk finds her on the sidewalk crying, things begin to look up.
Colton Thorpe is a well known bull-rider and the small town of Marietta considers him to be a hero. He is back in town for the rodeo and to visit with his family. Colton was the resident bad boy in high school and left immediately after graduation in order to pursue his dreams, just like Jenny. When he sees a gorgeous bride sobbing on the street, he has no choice but to see if he can be of any help.
Jenny has always been in love with Colton and due to her break-up, they end up getting together. Their chemistry is unique and magnetic, especially considering the circumstances that brought them together. Ms. Porter does an amazing job of evolving their relationship from friends into lovers.
This is the first book I have read by Ms. Porter and it certainly won't be the last. I was able to truly visualize and understand Jenny's poorest of the poor upbringing, due to Ms. Porter's explicit descriptions. This is a well-written novella from the Cooper Mountain Rodeo series that should not be missed.
I'm not sure where or how to start describing how amazing this novella is. While Charles Monmouth was jilting Jenny and telling her why, my chest hurt. I haven't been jilted before but I felt as if it was happening to me. I wanted to reach into my computer, backhand Monmouth to get him to stop talking and get Jenny away from him. I wanted to stop reading but because I wanted to know what was happening next I couldn't. I was so happy when Jenny realized that she was better off without Charles and a strong person on her own. I'm so glad she owned up to who she was; past and family included. I love that Colt was Jenny's childhood crush and that as an adult he was still a bad boy, but one with a heart of gold.
I do wish the novella had been longer, but I'm sure we'll see glimpses of them in other stories as we travel to Marietta, Montana. Jane Porter has once again written another fantastic story you don't want to miss.
This book is about Jenny and Colton. Jenny has returned home for her wedding and shockingly her fiance leaves her at the alter. She escapes the church full of family and friends on foot to avoid the further humiliation and heartache. What a farce of a relationship.
Colton, a rugged, sexy, national rodeo champion is back in town as the celebrity chair for the 75th Copper Mountain Rodeo. He finds the runaway bride escaping the church and helps her out. He is a man who goes after and gets what he wants and during the rodeo weekend he discovers he wants Jenny!
What a sweet story. I loved this book as well as the series and I highly recommend it. You won't be sorry!
