About the Author

Stephanie Summers is a wife and mother of two. She graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in accounting, though writing is her true passion. Stephanie seemed to always have a story or two or ten running around in her mind. At the ripe old age of 30, she finally decided it was time to put aside the thought that she didn't have what it took to write a novel and began writing her first story. She is the author of The Willow Creek Vampires Series, which presently consists of three books: Craving, Haunting, and Awakening. Her short story, Love Forgotten, was chosen to be published in Stardust: A Futuristic Romance Collection. She is also the author of the contemporary rock star romance, Take Me On, as well as the upcoming installment in the Take Me Series, Take Me Home. Be sure to check out her erotic short story, Saved by the Bear, available now.

Ok, now that I have that out of the way..... This book was exactly what I was looking for at the time. I wanted characters with intensity, insecurities, loyalty, passion, etc., without jumping into the sack by chapter 2. Ash is the ideal rock star, sex god, super nice, protective guy we all want chasing after us, right? And better yet, Lila is actually REAL!! She trips, she speaks before she thinks, she says the wrong thing, and doesn't know she's beautiful. Perfect. The fact that they didn't jump into bed immediately and then call it love was actually refreshing and just what I needed. I recommend all of you read Ash and Lila's story and join the rest of us who will be searching our Kindle store every day or two to see if we missed the conclusion. It's funny, heartwarming, and totally sexy without being all about sex. SPOILER ALERT (kind of) Can't wait to see what happened to send them their separate ways and watch as they reunite in book 2. (the beginning of this book is present day, then you go back to where their story began, so you know immediately some serious stuff went down that book 1 doesn't really cover).

Lila moves to a new city, closer to her BFF. Upon discovery of the beast man neighbor, she realizes he is the front man for her besties husbands band. No way he could ever have a real relationship with Lila, so she thinks. Ash has always had any woman he wants...and he noticed Lila too. After a series of run ins and visits with mutual friends, Lila and Ash find that they have a lot in common. They have a connection. They are both attracted to each other, but neither believes it could be real. Lila has serious trust issues, and Ash is a ladies man with the world at his feet. Can they beat the odds, can they follow their hearts, will they just live in the moment?
I didn't want this book to end, and I'm mad that it did. I was hooked the first sentence I read. Stephanie Summers makes her characters relateable, and believable. I laughed, I cried, I hated to put it down. I read it in 3 days, would've been one if I didn't have to leave me bed. I cannot wait for part 2!!

Lila Stephens has just moved to New York after the death of her grandmother and is now in the same town as he best friend Tori Tabor. Tori is married to Matty, who is part of the rock band Ferrum, but explains that she likes that Lila is not using her to get closer to the band.

Ash London is a huge rockstar but is really getting tired of the lifestyle and really wants to settle down with someone that loves him for the "real" side of him. Ash is attracted to Lila instantly and even more so when she turns him down.

Yet the two develop a good friendship but both have demons that they need to overcome and each is very scared of losing the other even though they may be both afraid too get too attached in the first place.

I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next one in the series. One of my favorite things is the conversations between Ash and Lila in that the banter is fun and scarcastic. The two develop such a great friendship but both are afraid of getting hurt. Lila has a past that she is unable to get over or talk about and that really puts a strain on her "relationship" with Ash.

I absolutely loved Ash and think he is the most amazing guy, well except for a few times during the book when i wanted to scream at him. I love that he really wants a "real" life and find that special someone and the extent he goes to make Lila happy. He genuinely cares for her and it is so amazing to see.

There were times when I wanted to strangle Lila but as the book got on further I completely understood where she was coming from. I'm glad she finally got some strength in talking about her past.

Such a great book and I can't wait for number two!!

You straight away find out that there is some complication going to happen and a huge drama going on and then you get to the story from the beginning and when you finish the book you are not done and the beginning makes sort of sence but you are missing so much so its not complete. This for me is a bit of a turn down. I like series and have no problem to read them but I like books with some kind of ending that connects to the beginning and this book dont. You have to read the second book to understand the first part of the book. I think it would have been better to skip the prolouge and just tell the story and make a litte better ending for this one and even then have a second book.

The style is written between two altering persons and at first I had no problem with it and thought it would be interesting to see the story from both the hot sexy rockstar and then girl who falls in love with him, but after a while it got pretty boring. It dont didnt give the depth I had wished for. It didnt give the book anything and I would have prefered another way of writing.

So the story itself isnt that bad, it is pretty interesting but very slow and I was bored part times of it. It felt like nothing is happening for the first part of the book, there where of course but as soon as anything was about to happen, it was ended so we never got any depth to it and it bored me out and i had parts where I thought I would fall asleep while other parts where brilliant.

I give the book 3 stars beause the book is readable and quite interesting and the story itself is interesting even if it is slow and could have been made more interesting.
