Anyone else notice this? Both are hilarious movies, but the recent news of the remake of the Arnold Schwarzenegger masterpiece of belly-laughs only highlights the needlessness of the remake.
The guys remaking it said they wanted to make a modern-day Commando done seriously and with a non-muscled-up hero.
That movie's already been made, however: TAKEN.
Even the plots to both movies are the same: retired men from military-like backgrounds get their daughters kidnapped and this plot gives the heroes an excuse to run around messing up any bad guy they come across to get their daughters back.
Both movies are also funny as heck for these reasons and many others, even if Taken had a more "serious" approach to its comedy.
