Holly, an American, working for a non-profit agency leads a happy life with Tom, her Australian husband in Melbourne. While Tom is climbing his career ladder, he betrays their happiness. Finding his dark secret, Holly starts to feel like she never knew this person before, and that gave her the push to seek for new feelings and, probably, a completely new life.
The author has done an outstanding job developing such a fast-paced plot and full-of-life characters. The first-person narrative voice of Holly is totally amazing. It conveys her feelings, thoughts, and emotions in the most incredible way! The language of the book is very descriptive, giving the reader an exclusive feeling of participation in its events.
“Taken Outback” is not a usual love novel. It is a kind of book that resembles the growth of a flower, keeping the tension as to what kind of flower will it be, and fully striking the reader with its fascinating blossom at the end!
How will Holly deal with her husband’s secrets, will their marriage survive, will she withstand all the troubles and be able to find happiness again? Open this amazing novel to find out.
~ Judi E. Easley for Blue Cat Review
Hhmmm...okay, being a woman who's been married to the same man for 34 years, I tend to lean towards faithfulness in one's marriage vows. And just because you think someone may be up to something, doesn't mean he is. However, I will say in Holly's defense, it did look pretty bad for Tom given his behavior and his boss' behavior. Does that give her the "right" to go off (willingly or not) with another man? I'm not the judge or jury, just the reviewer. And I don't want to be the revealer, either. So enough said about that.
This book still has me twisted up about what was right and what was wrong. I don't like the boss lady, and I use the term lady very loosely here. She's jerking Holly's chain just for the sake of getting a reaction and loving it! Tom's weak and spineless, even if nothing is happening. And Holly SHOULD have done several things. But if I tell you what, you won't need to read the book. And I really think you need to read this book, IF...
...you like contemporary romance with lots of steamy, graphic sex, relationship angst, and hot men who have been very bad. My strong recommendation to get it immediately before the author comes out with book #2 and you need to read to catch up!
I have it on good author-ity that the next book will be out about September
