McGriff flips the tables, telling this novel from book 1’s antagonist, London Chandler. You know, Cairo’s ex-best friend??
Even though I was rooting for Cairo in Book 1, I came to care for this anti-heroine, London Chandler, who really was trying to make her world better.
She’s made some mistakes. Ok, a lot! But McGriff makes London face those mistakes. So if you enjoy emotional turmoil and tough choices, you’ll enjoy this novel. Sprinkle in some sparks between her and the guy chasing her on a motorcycle no less (I won’t say why or who he works for—that’s a surprise!) and you got yourself a page turner.
And while I don’t want to spoil anything from Book 1, let’s just say this novel features a disabled female main character. London did not escape from her role as rebellion leader unscathed.
The ending satisfies on many levels. You'll be waiting for McGriff's next book in the New Earth series. The only question is, which of her intriguing side characters will be the main character this time?
