Lucy Albright never wanted her family's Texas ranch but it looked like she was about to lose it. After her father died things went down hill even when her brother tried to help. She made a promise so come what may she was keeping it.
Plus Lucy was tired of losing things/people that were close to her heart now it was up to her to save the ranch even if it meant doing something out of her comfort zone.
Lucy wasn't about to let another man help her cause she'd learned a long time ago that they always wanted something in return. So when the sexy as sin cowboy, David Harmon offered his help. That didn't sit well with her at all and she politely declined.
Despite Lucy refusing his help, David wasn't about to let her fall on her face if he could help it. He made a deal with Lucy one she couldn't refuse cause she needed all the help she could get before she lost her ranch.
The attraction between David and Lucy was unmistakable though she tried pushing him away, he outwitted her stubbornness.
Lucy made a mistake one she was ready to rectify but things wasn't going as she planned. David who'd fallen head over heels in love with her the first time he'd laid eyes on her was right beside her every step of the way.
It was great to catch up with old characters and meet new ones throughout this journey. Loved how close Sarah and Lucy were along with the men in their lives. They were friends who seemed to be more like a family.
TAKING CHARGE is the fourth installment in Ruth Cardello's LONE STAR BURN series. This book was amazing, full of heart and soul. Ruth Cardello knows how to draw her readers in.
If you haven't read this series yet, you don't know what you're missing. I recommend this book, so give it a try. You won't regret it. 5++++
