The fable characters represent each of the styles and the reader quickly hones in on which is most like him/her. The story is light and engaging - clearly the focus is on discovering layers of meaning within each personality style, which the authors accomplished with remarkable clarity. By the end of the fable, I had a good grasp of how each style plays out in the world.
Given the light nature of the story, I was pleasantly surprised at how thorough, insightful, and practical the later sections are. Rosenberg and Silvert don't pull any punches with how one can improve themselves. After taking the profile that follows the fable, check out Steps for Reaching Your Highest Potential. I was stunned at how accurately it depicted my own challenges - as well as relationships in my life. In fact, I find myself `people reading' nearly everyone I know. The DISC, as presented here at least, is a remarkable lens with which to view yourself, relationships that matter to you, co-workers, your boss, everyone. Fantastic!
Get it, it really will change your life!
