This is a beautiful and heart-wrenching story of the complexity of human relations, and the social burdens borne by people who date across racial and cultural boundaries. It does at times get bogged down in historical explanations for prejudice, but the characters are well-developed and the sequence of events is intriguing.
This is a quick and interesting read, and I look forward to more from this author.
The flow and characters made it come alive in a way that I could relate to since this story actually brought back memories of my college days since it was set in the time I was in college. It was eye opening to really think about all of the ugliness of racism but also know that the triumph comes through accepting the truth about ourselves as individuals as well as a group.
Love is not a game but a truth in how God wants us to see ourselves and others. Too bad not everyone sees the truth in unconditional love.I can't wait to read more from this author. I like her truth.
