This one is just TOO funny, with a morality tale about greed, thievery, losing one's temper, and repentance for one's sins as a bonus.
I have lived in many places where there were mice aplenty, and we co-habit-ed quite cordially for the most part. Ditto for the spiders, ants, and the occasional little lizards or baby snakes. The true persona-non-grata are the roaches and centipedes. I live in Japan, so there are a few others.
Anyway, a true gem of a story, with all of Miss Potter's other works, read over and over again to as many as will hear them.

Beatrix Potter has always been a favorite of mine since my first child was born 41.5 years ago - I have shared it with all of my four (4) children and now my 9 grandchildren - they loved it every time it has been read to them - not to mention the underlying lessons learned from the antics of the mice and, of course, all of Beatrice's stories - the art is amazing as well. Hard to admit this but I had never read any Beatrix Potter books when I was very young . Nor did I read them to my children. Loved the imagination and the illustrations. Some things do get better with age. I will have to go to the library and read them to the young children there.

Weird moral story where bad thieves were not so bad because they repaid their debt. It had potential to be so much more. Sadly it falls short as both a story and a moral lesson and it's unclear what it's going for. I'm sad to see the heartwarming pictures accompany such a story. Also the bit about the fake food was rather unpleasant.

When I was a girl, my mother read this book to me over and again. I remember begging her to read it to me, and when I was old enough reading it myself. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters, including the "Two bad mice", and as in all Beatrix Potter books it is well written and a lesson is well learned. I am looking forward to reading this book to my own children (which is why I am on Amazon.com looking for it).

Pristine condition, I am very pleased with it.Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 7, 2020
The Tale of the Two Bad Mice was one of my first books as a child, the pictures have remained with me 70 years later. That book of course is long gone so I was so pleased to receive this one. This copy is in pristine condition. Thank you.
