Editorial Reviews

Review

A brilliantly written, compelling, and fast-paced story with the sheer ability to completely captivate your mind and draw a real connection with the character. Each page of the novel is filled with drama and adrenaline racing action with characters that are truly believable and a plot that feels real. A perfect fusion between the dark and light sides of the plot to create a novel with a flawlessly balanced reading thrill that feels like riding on a roller coaster in a perfect breeze, but at twice the normal speed--5 stars--Faridah Nassozi for Reader's Favorite.

A heart stopping romance and suspense novel about two individuals who are perfect for each other but their past relationships stand in the way of a lasting intimacy.  With the author's creative writing style, events unravel smoothly and at just the right pace.  The character development is excellent. The blending of romance and suspense is quite successful, too, so that it is an effort to put down the book without reading until the last page in one sitting--Maria Beltran for Reader's Favorite Reviews

Tales of the Dragonfly, set in a lovely Wisconsin lake town, includes a host of characters, from the ordinary to the unusual. In it, Tamara Ferguson has presented a story of intrigue, mystery and love.  Readers will urge Sam on as he rushes to solve the mystery before harm might befall his beloved Penny--Patricia Reding for Reader's Favorite

If you enjoyed meeting Danielle and Jake in Tales of the Dragonfly Book 1, you'll be delighted as they reappear in book 2. Others from that first book walk on stage as you read. It's like a homecoming, all set up around a wedding in the luxurious Inn at Dragonfly Pointe. Love is in the air, not just for the bride and groom, but for Penny the florist and Sam the police chief. This well-written book captures the exuberance experienced by childhood friends who get a second chance at passion and romance. Tension and suspense infiltrate the idyllic scene, too, though. Just below the surface, old tragedies and past mistakes tug at the well-developed characters. New conflicts soon emerge, and the action really heats up when there's a murder. Love and suspense are deftly interwoven in this page turner. The investigation into whodunit takes the characters and readers on a thrilling quest for the truth. A great romantic suspense tale! Five Stars.

This is a very nice novel for me because of several reasons. The imagery of settings reminds me of classically romantic Americana. The book feels like a warm and personal place to learn about the interesting characters. The characters are active, some complex, and they offer the range of human emotion. There is lot of social interest created that resembles most towns social circles, but Tamara Ferguson makes the most of it in a charming way. Really interesting, I will read it a second time in a few weeks.

It appears that the most significant event going on at Crystal Rock is a wedding at the newly renovated

Dragonfly Pointe Inn, but you will eventually find out that there is a sinister side threatening the

festivities. The two are masterfully woven together in a story with the perfect balance of Romance,

mystery, suspense and MURDER! Tamara Fergusen has beautifully written a book with unforgettable

characters and the kind of intrigue that will leave you hungry for the next addition in the series.

Once again, I read a series out of order. I read book two of this series written by Tamara Ferguson called “Tales of the Dragonfly Book II: In Flight” But like the other series’ that I’ve read out of order, this book stands wonderful on its own. Tamara Ferguson is a very talented writer. Not just because of how she wrote the story and how she gave the characters unique personalities and backgrounds but also how she made this book stand great on its own. She did this by having the characters from the first book in this one as well. But I didn’t want to take a chance by not familiarizing myself with the first book so I read the description of the first book as well as some of the reviews from Amazon and Goodreads. However, I found it to be both entertaining and unnecessary. It seems that Tamara doesn’t want any of her readers feeling lost or confused.
The main characters of the first book; Danielle and Jake are somewhat secondary in this one. They’re getting married to each other and a woman named Penny Wentworth is in charge of the floral arrangements. Although she’s involved in this very festive wedding, she’s not that excited about it because the wedding is just a harsh reminder of her own failed marriage to an abusive man as well as carrying the responsibilities of her autistic son, Alex. But things start to turn up a little when she’s reunited with Sam Danielson, a childhood friend. What she’s not aware of is that Sam has a troubled past too. Not just a failed marriage of his own but he’s also chief of police and has been trying to solve a murder mystery that is currently haunting the town. But after spending some time together, their worries begin to fade that is until Sam’s ex tries to return to him so they can get back together.

I don't read a lot of romance/suspense lately but decided to take a break from my normal fare. I loved Tales of the Dragonfly. This was a delightfully well written book with interesting characters and a charming setting. I'd really like a vacation at Dragonfly Point. Sounds wonderful. Tamara creates images that are vivid and well crafted.
Crystal Rock is a small town that has been lucky enough to have the owners of Dragonfly Point revamp the old in and now it is the scene of the wedding of the season. The only problem, is there is a lot more than a wedding going on. Women are being killed and finding the person responsible is not an easy task nor is the motive
Chief of police, Sam Danielson meets Penny Wentworth at the wedding and they are drawn together despite the challenges faced by Penny with her special needs son. Sam, surprisingly enough, is up for the challenge.
The disabled child is described with understanding and compassion yet without sugar coating life when dealing with dating and special needs children.
Well written. Great Suspense and love story...
