I know this says "Short Stories", but it really feels like one story to me. I think that Anita, who is a witch and in every story, is a lovely, caring character. Sophia, a werewolf shifter, is in almost all the stories, is a wonderful character, very loving, caring mother of two girls and takes on two boys who just wonder in. I like paranormal off of the stories because they don't overpower them and aren't the main focus. I like that Each story is about the same people and place. Each story teaches a little lesson, love forgiveness, believe in yourself, make time for family. All of these stories are short, easy to read, and well written.
The one complaint I have is that I think that the forest needed more world building in one of the stories or maybe a prologue.

I don’t read children’s book so much these days as my daughter is now an adult. I used to read the books my daughter had so we could discuss them if she wanted. Truth be told after I’d finished this book it didn’t feel as if I’d read a children’s book, but then you take what you want from every book you read, no matter the intended audience.
Joey is using her talent to further her dream of opening a dog sanctuary and despite being given an advanced draft and a signed copy, I still brought a Kindle copy because I believe that Joey deserves to achieve her dream. And because I genuinely enjoyed her book.
