If you're going to talk about this kind of subject matter, you have got to acknowledge a certain amount of skepticism. You have to get your audience to come into the reading with a certain belief system, from roughly the same place, or else you'll spend the whole book flailing and trying to MAKE people believe. A great example of how to do this is the introduction to The Dark Sacrament: True Stories of Modern-Day Demon Possession and Exorcism - it sets up the reader by saying, we're not here to debate whether or not demonic possession actually happens; rather, we're relating these stories as they were given to us. What this allows the reader to do is enjoy the book regardless of their belief system - if you believe in demonic possession, you'll take something away from the stories, but even if you don't, you can just read them as good old-fashioned scary fun and it's very entertaining.
Unfortunately, this book just doesn't handle it well (or at all), and as a result, I found myself using my internal monologue to bicker with the author over his terrible logic pretty much the whole time. The stories themselves are interesting enough, so it's definitely worth a read if you're into this sort of thing, but you'll have to work extra hard to suspend your disbelief.
in fact they were all good. I did find them in a good
format. However I found myself wanting something a bit
