This small book is chock full of wisdom that exists on many levels. It may be read as a captivating compilation of true experiences to an invaluable guidebook for animal communication, energy work and healing, for people with pets to those in animal related professions. Annis helps us understand and get to the bottom of an animal's distress and how to relieve it. She describes perspectives and intelligence in creatures that is often not sensed by well-meaning humans. If you've had the feeling that your animals are suffering from more than “behavior” issues that traditional methods of training and healing modalities haven't fully addressed, this book will blow open doors within you. What a relief!
With just a few, deft lines, Michael Parker's skillfully drawn illustrations capture the essence of each animal, nicely reflecting Annis's wisdom, clarity, humor and straight forward approach to writing, healing animals and living life. This is an essential book, for those of us with the desire for greater partnership and the well being of the animal companions that we so love.
As we venture through the book, we realize that we are in the hands of an adventurous spirit, who has traveled widely, and traversed many lands and cultures. So it is not surprising to find that she can enter the world of animals with such ease.
The book is cleverly structured. We are treated to the author's adventures with animals, and then as the book moves towards its conclusion, she tells us how we too, can talk to the animals that we share our own world with. This approach is in sharp contrast to the often prescriptive and dogmatic approaches seen in 'how-to' books on energy. Instead, the author has drawn us into that still and light place from which she observes the natural world, inviting us to share this special place with her, and so talk to the animals ourselves.
Annis delivers information and stories in such a way that one is captivated not only by the story but the character of the animals.I felt myself feeling deep compassion and respect for these creatures.
Not only have I learned so much about the animals, I have learned about myself, how i relate to self and my fellow human travellers.
This an easy read, a good read and the only reason it didnt get 5 star rating was because of the editorial errors which i believe have been corrected.
I believe that this book will be invaluable to pet owners, vets and vet nurses and anyone else who spends time with animals. Even spiders! It is an extra-ordinary work, not found anywhere else, and because it is a quick, easy read, and so approachable, it will be useful and fascinating to anyone.
We are fortunate, Annis Parker shares with us, her profound wisdom and deep understanding, with fascinating true stories about her Life with Animals.
This is an inspiring, informative, easy to read book, which will help many of us improve our knowledge and care, for all creatures great and small, more than we could ever imagine.
Even the very simple little sketches throughout the book, are delightful.
There are some typo errors, but this does not detract from the content.
I highly RECOMMEND this heartwarming and insightful book to ALL.
