4.0 out of 5 stars Great cheap alternative. Good battery life & works without IR adapter
By beth on August 21, 2020
Don't listen to haters who give low rate for lack of specs it never listed it had. This remote works for half of what official costs and works without Kinect or IR @15ft away with semi indirect line sight on bed. Seems some never used an ir remote before, using 2rooms away or with Xbox blocked which clearly won't work. It works better than my Vizio TV remote. Surface is soft touch w/ rubber buttons that have good click. 1month in, no problems or sticky buttons. Remote does get dirty easy but clean with alcohol. To refute reviewer, this will work with soundbars with Xbox Hdmi in to bar then bar to tv. You have to add bar via Xbox settings to do so. Easy and not a remotes responsibility, it says for Xbox not others. The only downside is the motion activated backlight, as I sleep with remote on my arm N it turns off too soon, but most smart ppl memorize remote button placement w/o looking. Batteries still going strong after +200hrs use and I'm a frequent button pusher. The letter buttons actually do light up, just not the Xbox logo. This remote is lighter and thats a good thing for wrist pain reduction. The buttons are placed similar to other remotes. The button below A an be customized to quick launch any app u choose. Wish Vizio would take a hint. Dpad is difficult to press but play/fwd buttons are better placed and easier to find. Some cable remotes put play buttons down lower half remote, forcing you to move thumb in awkward way and harsh on the hand. I own 7 remotes for 1 room alone, none are ergo, or the weight stress makes it pointless. This is light and buttons place nice. It's not loose in hand pressing middle buttons with avg sized hands. It clearly won't work with cable DVR, it doesn't have that button and it says for XBOX! I haven't tried using this for regular cable but it should work if u have cable plugged into Xbox, DVR and VOD aside. I've rates my remotes by button placement

5.0 out of 5 stars Backlit buttons

Tapping the remote illuminates all the face buttons (except the Xbox button).

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect alternative to a Game Controller
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on February 27, 2019
I bought this as I no long use my Xbox to game and rather have the game controller paired to my pc.

So i needed a media remote for YouTube and other streaming services. I decided to go with this remote and have been very happy with it.

The buttons light up when touched or tapped which I wasn’t aware it did.The quality is great has a really nice soft plastic feel but also strong and sturdy. The buttons are also great quality and feel good .

My only negative is the contectivity isn’t the same as the game controller, you have to have the Xbox in view, mine was tooked away on a low shelf and the view was blocked with my bed, the remote would have difficulty working until I moved the Xbox higher and now works fine.

    I would recommend this item.

I bought this product because I watch a lot of media - I'm tired of trying to play a game only to find my controller has been run flat using it for Netflix. Remote control will save my game controller and doesn't need to be turned on and off all the time.

    -New box & product.

-Hard rubber finish for nice feel and non-slip.

    -2 AAA batteries included.

-Works out the box, no installation or set up required.

-Backlit buttons for easy use in the dark

-Motion activated, no on button, just pick it up and it is instantly lot up and ready to use.

    - unlike other remotes this one also includes the y, x, a,b buttons, which are sometimes needed with media to search or go back.

-IR seems to work fine, just point it at the xbox, not the TV. Any IR limitations are due to the small IR reciever on the xbox and are a problem with all xbox remotes.
