Tame Your Inner Critic: Find Peace & Contentment to Live Your Life on Purpose lives up to its title as a guide to transforming negative thoughts into positive ones. Peppered with specialized exercises and meditations, Tame Your Inner Critic reveals one's inner power to improve everyday interactions, personal relationships, and overall quality of life. Both psychological qualities ("Releasing Negative Self-Talk") and metaphysical qualities ("Chakras and Your Life Force") are discussed at length in this excellent self-help guide. From the Author
As you do so, your inner world will become a place of stillness and peace. Here you will come in contact with a part of yourself that is connected to the Divine. On your journey of discovery your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, words, and actions will begin to support your life's purpose. That is the joy. That is Grace. As you come to know deep within your soul, that you are living a life full of inner purpose and meaning, you radiate this joy into the world, and that in turn affects everyone around you.

Della has organized the material well, making it easy and entertaining reading. She builds upon each new tool/concept (foreign energy is one of my favorites) so you develop a solid foundation. She provides clear “down to earth” explanations (and great personal anecdotes) to help you understand the process to rid yourself of your own inner critic. She helps to reinforce the tools/concepts with the exercises in the accompanying workbook. The exercises are fun to do too!
I love the fact that in addition to Della’s clairvoyance and psychic training she also has traditional education, training and experience in business, teaching and leadership. She is a truly “grounded” and practical physic with a unique gift for healing. For anyone, like me, who has been terrorized by their own inner critic, I cannot recommend this book highly enough.
On the second night when I arrived back at my Mom's home after visiting her - I picked up the copy of Tame Your Inner Critic. Right away I was hooked. It was like this book was written for me! I am a firm believer things in my life happen for a reason! Reading Tame Your Inner Critic at this point in my life was meant to be - I am my worse critic.
Tame Your Inner Critic Book & Workbook are my new life journey. I honestly think the book and workbook are part of me - it is amazing how much they have helped during my difficult time. I thought I knew myself pretty well - but I am learning so much about me.
I highly recommend everyone give it a try - hopefully you will be as pleasantly amazed as I am.
This paperback book came to me as a gift. It isn’t a book that I would have normally taken interest in because the title doesn’t ‘grab’ me. However, the book did.
While I have a lot of eBooks on my iPad, it was nice in this case to have a good old-fashioned book in my hands. The text is easy to read with a pleasing font and ample spacing. Not that self-published books are bad (I’ve produced two myself), but I was encouraged to see that a well-known company was confident enough to publish this title.
It is hard to come up with a short title for a book like this. Certainly overcoming the inner critic is a major theme in the book, but there is so much more to it. A more descriptive title might be “Human Life is Not as it Seems: The Universe is Benign, Everything is Energy, and You are a Creator. Anything is Possible. So get Your Sh!t Together and Start to Change Your Life to the Way You’d Like it to Be”.
Some books contain a useful idea which is padded out with lots of extra words to make a saleable book. This book is quite the opposite. In around 230 pages it describes the nature of reality, and outlines various ways in which we might work with this reality for the benefit of all. There are some profound ideas in the book, but there is no highlighting or fanfare to announce them. They appear unexpectedly in common words in simple paragraphs.
If a new reader has little knowledge of the energetic nature of reality, or if they have been raised to reject such ideas.... then this book could be a blessing or a surprise for them. I would urge everyone to read this (or any) book with an open mind and at least just consider the possibilities.
I’ve been around for quite a long time and I’ve had experiences that convince me there is much more to life than might appear. Things can be much more magical than we may think.
Della Temple gives brief (but useful and effective) descriptions and instructions regarding such things as meditation, tapping, clairvoyant energy work and mind mapping. These topics are the subject of many books, but the reader is likely to find that “Tame Your Inner Critic” contains all the information that they need for now.
I was delighted to find that the author is not dogmatic. While she describes ways that she and her clients might do things, she tells us to: “Stand in your own truth, at all times.” She also states, more than once: “There is no right or wrong way, just your way.” And this suits me. I’ve never given much importance to chakras or auras, but I do play around with some of the other things described in the book. Different people can have different perspectives.... the author indicates this herself in reminding us of the story of the two blindfolded people trying to describe an elephant while standing at opposite ends of the animal.
The book states: “You create your reality from the inside out.” This is a profound statement well worth contemplating. This is the answer to global warming, corruption and violence, the energy crisis, disease and famine and every problem we may encounter. We should be devouring such ideas and, more importantly, putting them into practice to the best of our ability.
Best wishes from New Zealand.
