Lily and Caleb have been giving each other steamy looks since they were introduced earlier in the series. Caleb has always been a warrior so he refuses to think of himself as a prophet. I really wish we could have got more of his backstory but I did enjoy what we were given. Lily is a counselor and peacekeeper but she hides her temper and strength behind a mask of calm. Caleb brings out her fierceness and pushes her to be herself and not hide. I can’t wait to see her in future books.
I wonder what is going to happen with Janie in the future. Her future is up in the air and everyone wants her. Hopefully we get more from her POV in the future books.
Caleb courted Lilly three hundred years ago before her parents forced her into an arranged mating. Now, due to the virus the vampire’s enemy has created, Lilly is no longer bound to her mate who died a short time after they came together. I enjoyed watching Lilly come into her own as she struggled against her beliefs and what she could trust as truth or deception.
Caleb is a typical alpha vampire who is also a soldier of the Realm and just so happens to have recently been fated as a prophet. It’s a job he does not want nor acknowledges. Once he has a chance to be with Lilly again there is no turning back for him. He is in it all the way and he doesn’t hide that fact from her.
Filled with great secondary characters, humor, steamy sex, suspense and even a twist I didn’t really see coming, Tamed lives up to the high standards I have now set for not only this series but for this author.
I would suggest this be read after Shadowed

Loved Caleb and Lily together and thought they were a good match for eachother. Caleb is another yummy alpha male hero written well like all others in this series. I did swoon a bit over him as he was more gentle than others in this series.
Wanted more action and romance as I felt like there was more talk about getting ready for some big peace talk. It was repetitive and got bored easy. So far I have gobbled up all the books in the Dark Protector series even the novellas but sad to say this was easy to put down and pick back up.
Dage and Janie are a big part of the plot that I believe is leading up to her book Marked. I loved having them in this book.
Love this series and have even read all the novelllas because I can not get enough of Rebecca Zanetti amazing story telling and yummy heroes. Tamed was a good edition in the series. But for me I did not love it or hate it.

Her vampires, the Karys brothers, as well as Caleb, are really pretty similar to humans, in their need for relationships, and although warriors through and through, they are all pretty nice guys. In the first books, they lived in underground, mountain homes that were very intricately carved out. Now they still live in the mountains, but now are in a gated community. This novella has the vampire king, Dage, and his niece, Janie, along for the ride. Demons are still wanting to kill Janie, and the Kurjans, just want her to mate with them. Janie is still fated to change the supernatural world in her twenty fifth year, which is now. And now one of the Kurjan leaders, Franco, wants Lily as his own. Sorry that was a plot point but it needed to be said.
I enjoyed the characters of Caleb and Lily. And of course really liked their romance. There was some things that I didn’t enjoy however. I am used to the action packed previous books. There is a bit of that, but not a lot. We get a bit of the romance, but not a lot. A big part of the story centered around readying the peace talks quarters, and I found that boring. If that had been part of a book, it would have been okay, but in a novella, it just wasn’t what I wanted to read about. I found myself putting the book down a lot, and even read another full book, while in the middle of it.
I am sure this book will be widely read, and actually it should be. It is the bridge to the next book which I believe is Janie and Zane’s story-finally. Seems like it’s been forever getting to this point. So if you are anxiously waiting for that book, this could just the thing to tide you over until then.

Lilly miss prim prophet in a bar fight ? And Calab had me at 'roumour has it, you want to get laid' and didn't she just. These two were meant for each other, but centuries past duty and fate called Lilly to choose another, now she was free, and time to right that wrong. For Calab there was only Lilly.
There was plenty of adventure going on in this story too, a meeting to negotiate peace, now was that really going to happen ?
To anyone who hasn't read The Dark Protector Series yet, I can highly recommend it
