Emma Chase you crack me up...or I should say your characters thoughts, words and actions do!! As you did with Tangled , you tell the male perspective in such a way it makes me wonder about you.

Tamed is the story of Matthew, "my" Drew's...yes I said "my"...get over it...well anyway, Matthew is Drew's life long friend. We are told his POV of his hot and sexy romance with Dee, AKA Delores, Kate's kooky dressing, crazy funny, rocket scientist bff. That was a mouth full.

This story takes place in a parallel universe to Tangled so we get some more incite into Drew and Matthew and how they changed from man whores to one woman men.

Early on, Matthew informs us that he and Dee are in love but as he says, "..the greatest part of a road trip isn't arriving at your destination. It's all the wild stuff that happens along the way."

So how does this wild couple actually become a couple?? Well all I can tell you is there are bumps along the way, as we would expect, but these two have the art of make up sex down to a science!! After all she is a scientist.

Oh and yes, yes, yes, ...little Mackenzie and her swear jar are back...smartest kid ever!! " Did you know the girl penguins got the boy penguins by the balls?"

Although Matthew's inner thoughts are not as irreverent as Drew's are in Tangled , Dee makes up for it with her own non filtered sentiments. So you will laugh . I doubt you will cry (unless you take this book boyfriend thing very seriously...uh hmm. ) but you will definitely enjoy this book.

Okay So I am ready to give "my" Drew away to Kate in Tied... so bring it on Ms. Chase I can handle it !!!

Tamed has been one of my most anticipated books this year and I am so glad to say it exceeded my expectations. Matthew and Dee's story is told exclusively from Matthew's point of view. I must confess I was a little concerned that Matthew's voice would be too much like Drew Brook's (from Tangled), but Matthew's view was unique. Drew was bold, brash, and sarcastic while Matthew displays a more laid back attitude. He was witty, refreshingly honest with himself about his feelings for Dee and had great insight into Dee's personality and behavior. I liked that Matthew embraced Dee's quirkiness and was considerate of her insecurities. I also liked seeing their relationship grow from basically a one night stand to a full blown romance. There was no over the top drama or screw ups by either main character which was nice to see.

I never went into Tamed thinking that at the end of the story I would prefer Matthew over Drew, but quite frankly I do. I hope we get another book or even novella from Matthew and Dee.

I chose to start with this because it was short. Which meant, if I didn't love it, I hadn't wasted hours of my life on it. When it first started, I didn't think I would enjoy it because we get Matthew's somewhat chauvinistic POV. But, as I continued to listen, I found it refreshing to hear a story from the man's point of view. And Matthew was a GREAT guy. He was so easy, honest and sweet. It's nice to "meet" a character that doesn't have issues and baggage or some emotional trauma holding him back. He is also a really good friend. The scenes between him and Drew's apartment door were hilarious, but so heartwarming, too.

I also loved Dee. I thought she was funny, vulnerable and brave. Yes, she had some emotional baggage that made it difficult for Matthew to get close to her. But, it was normal stuff that just needed the right man to come along and help her get over it. She also sounded so gorgeous! I could see her very clearly as I was reading. She was such a free spirit- uninhibited in her emotions and full on, in your face, honest.
She and Matthew had great chemistry that practically jumped off the page and didn't simmer down at all. They are a great couple and I am glad they fought for their HEA.

The supporting characters in the book were great, too and so now I am going to go back and start at the beginning of the series with Tangled. Now that I have some background on Drew and Kate, I think I will enjoy it.

The writing was great- very descriptive with lots of witty banter.

I also bought the audiobook and the narrator was really good. At times his voice sounded a little like his mouth was full, but I thought he sounded, for the most part, like a sexy young man.

YES! Just yes! This is the Emma Chase I fell in love with. For those of you who were thrown off the bandwagon with Twisted, have no fear! Emma has done it again. Sure, I can throw all the overused, redundant terms at you: unputdownable, hilarious, sexy and fun, but how about these: skillful comedic timing, lustful page turning sex, and a romantic leading man with a case of uproarious wit.

Yeah, I know, I just can’t help it. I am absolutely in love with Mathew. Forget Drew. He is a child compared to this man. A man who is humbled by love and not afraid to lay it all out there. He really is book boyfriend perfection. I drove my husband nuts with my constant “Ya gotta hear this” and I gave the highlight option on my Kindle a real work out too. I mean come on….. I’ll leave the funny parts as a surprise, but here’s some sweet!

“To really love another person, you have to know them – their quirks, their dreams, what pisses them off and makes them smile, their strengths, weaknesses and flaws.”

“I want to be the reason for your smiles”

As much as I loved Tangled, it really pales in comparison to Tamed. Still sporting my perpetual smile 24 hours later! A perfect summer read, guys.
